Saying Yes to Life’s Magic & Keeping Balance During the Festive Season 🎄 December is here, and so are the magical moments that remind us of the importance of saying yes to life’s opportunities. Last week was a perfect mix of connection, energy, and inspiration. It started at the Dance for Ashley fundraiser, featuring legendary DJs like Fatboy Slim and Craig Charles. That’s me, right at the front during X-Press 2’s set, captured by the legendary DJ Terry Farley. The night was full of music, community, and support — shared with old friends and new faces alike. A special shoutout to Jenny S. who joined me in being alcohol-free while we danced the night away The energy carried me into the next day when I spoke at the LegalEx conference. My talk invited attendees to reflect on strengths through guided visualisation. Hearing about connections people made was inspiring and energising! The week wrapped up beautifully with a curry night and exciting project planning with Jenny Martin — more on that soon! Navigating ADHD, Energy, and Boundaries Last week reinforced how crucial it is to balance saying yes to amazing opportunities with saying no to overextending myself. Leaving the fundraiser when I said I would so I could give my best speaking at my 10 AM the next day... For those of us navigating ADHD, setting boundaries is key to thriving during busy seasons. Here are three ways to manage energy and protect your well-being: • Prioritise Rest: Quality sleep is essential for staying focused and energised. • Set Clear Boundaries: Know when to say yes and when to protect your time and energy. • Explore Alcohol-Free Fun: Nearly 8 years into an alcohol-free lifestyle, I’ve discovered how much more present, connected, and vibrant life can feel. Why not try one alcohol-free event this season? As the festive season unfolds, reflect on what matters and where your energy is best spent. Let’s Thrive Together in 2024! I help individuals and teams unlock their potential through ADHD & Leadership Empowerment Coaching. Here's how: • 1:1 Coaching: Tailored sessions designed to help you tackle challenges and achieve your goals. • Group Coaching: Collaborative workshops that foster growth and connection. ✨ Dry January Special Offer: Looking to create a meaningful wellbeing initiative? I’m running engaging talks and interactive workshops on alcohol’s impact and the benefits of being sober-curious. These sessions help teams embrace change, improve wellbeing, and boost workplace performance. 💡 Whether it’s personal growth, team development, or organisational transformation, I bring lived experience and practical tools to help you create lasting change. Ready to take the next step? Drop me a DM or email to explore how we can work together. Let’s make 2025 a year of empowered leadership and balance. #ADHDcoaching #LeadershipCoaching #Wellbeing #SoberCurious #DryJanuary #AlcoholFree #Neurodiversity #TeamDevelopment #Empowerment #Neuroinclusive

Are you lonely? This week is Loneliness Awareness Week. A chance to highlight the need for human connection. Loneliness is a space where the fear, sadness and overwhelm can expand. It is still possible to feel fear, sadness or overwhelm with others. But there's also the chance that a conversation and connection with the right person or people can lead to hope, problem solving, laughter, serendipity, surprise, and a feeling that change is possible. 🌱 For the past few years I've been involved in running a group who gather about once a month to do some greening activities in our community. I do things like write emails and Facebook posts, organise tasks and buy resources. Activities that can be a little mundane. And then we come together for a few hours, chat, work, see the changes. And afterwards it's like I've taken a big dose of hope medicine. Seeing the connections of people in the group, and that the impact is more than just the plants which are now growing and the wildlife the children are noticing. It's good to know that I'm not alone in my hopes for a more nature rich world. So this weekend and in the coming weeks where can you seek or create opportunities for connections which will help you? 💚 https://lnkd.in/en9Q5wZh #lonelinessawarenessweek #conservation #lonely #connection #randomactofconnection

We hosted our second Self-Care Sunday yesterday, and it was so wonderful to connect with our community who were joining from three different continents 🌍 Each Sunday we spend an hour together, with guided meditation, journaling, a self-care activity and a sharing circle. To close our Self-Care Sundays, we read a story aloud. Yesterday's story was a reminder that doing your best is good enough, and every tiny action adds up. 📚 The Hummingbird and the Forest Fire One day, a terrible fire broke out in a forest - a huge, roaring blaze that threatened to destroy everything in its path. All the animals gathered at the edge of the forest, feeling helpless as they watched their home being consumed by flames. The fire was too big, and they felt there was nothing they could do. Suddenly, a tiny hummingbird flew back and forth from the river to the fire, carrying a few drops of water in its beak each time. The other animals watched, confused and surprised by the little bird’s actions. "Little Hummingbird, what do you think you’re doing?" asked a large, concerned elephant. "The fire is far too big, and you’re far too small to make any difference!" The hummingbird paused for a moment, then turned to the elephant and said, "I’m doing the best I can." With that, the hummingbird continued flying back and forth, carrying tiny drops of water to the flames. Reflection Questions: 🌳What does this story suggest about the importance of individual efforts, even when the challenges seem insurmountable? 🌳In what ways can you be like the hummingbird in your work, volunteering or activism? 🌳How can a small but determined effort inspire others around you? Would you like an hour in your week to rest? To reflect on how you're really feeling? To spend 60 minutes away from your phone? Join us each Sunday. Come and look after your wellbeing with us. 🎟 https://lnkd.in/dkMxDB5m #thejoyfulactivists #charitywellbeing #humanitarianmentalhealth

Food serves as a powerful community connector by bringing people together to share experiences, celebrate cultural traditions, and build relationships. Whether through communal meals, family gatherings, or cultural festivals, food fosters connection and understanding across diverse backgrounds. This week's wellness practice: call a family member or friend, gather the recipe for a beloved holiday dish, and learn to make it-nourishing both your heart and your connections. —— MVP-PRO is a collection of concepts, topics, questions, and practices designed to move us all forward, increase our wellness, and build a stronger foundation for the people we deserve to be and the lives we deserve to live. Every week, our huddles will have the opportunity to go deeper into these principles and practices. Each MVP-PRO ends with a wellness practice because the real, lasting change happens in the space between the huddles.
