Every quarter, Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation's team works together to distill the most impactful stories to share with our community. Sometimes we have so much content that the website can barely keep up. When I first started in the nonprofit sector as a storyteller, the credo was "no one cares about the sausage making." With so many places to contribute your resources and a greater desire to see behind the curtain, we have a new challenge as nonprofit communications experts. The sector and our stakeholders want more than a report out on numbers and outcomes. Some things our stakeholders want to undertand include: • *how* and *why* we make the choices we make, and how we continue to learn and adapt to do things better (see the scholarships story by Dana Crary, TTCF Community Impact Manager), • the intentional partnerships that help funders realize our values statements instead of checking DEI boxes for PR (see the Washoe grant story), and • strategies that help donors make the most of every dollar for greater impact in the places that they care about (see the Philanthropies section and our $10 million matching grant). This impact report shares a lot more than all of that, and I am proud to be part of the team of staff, Board, partners, and donors who make this work possible and hold ourselves accountable to our community.
