🏠 Planning to Move Over the Holidays? Here's What You Need to Know About Notice Periods The holiday season is fast approaching, and if you're considering giving notice on your rental property, timing is everything! Here's a quick guide to help you navigate the notice period rules. During normal times, it's pretty simple: Your 28-day notice period starts the day after your landlord receives your notice (as long as you send it before 5pm for emails or texts). Think of it this way - if you give notice on a Thursday, your notice period kicks off on Friday. But here's the holiday twist! 🎄 The Residential Tenancies Act (RTA) has special provisions for the festive season. This year: Last working day: Monday, December 23 First working day of 2025: Monday, January 6 What does this mean for you? Let's say you pop your notice in during the holiday period (December 24 - January 5). According to the RTA, it won't be officially "received" until the first working day back - that's Monday, January 6. Your notice period would then start from Tuesday, January 7. Quick example: If you send your notice on December 21, your final tenancy date would be Tuesday, February 4. That's quite a difference from regular timing! 💡 Pro Tip: Factor these dates into your moving plans to avoid any surprises. Early planning is key during the holiday season! Got questions? The holidays are coming! Our holiday cover clients are getting organised very early this year - many are already set up and prepared for the Summer holidays. Whilst many businesses have their own in-house reception or phone answering system that works perfectly most of the year, during the holidays they find themselves either short staffed or even shut down in order to enjoy the Summer break. For many businesses, however, holidays don’t stop client calls, new enquiries or out of hours emergencies, so an alternative solution is required. SMARTstrat can help by handling some or all of your calls - to keep your business functioning over the holidays. It’s quick and easy to set up, cost effective and gives you complete peace of mind that your business will not be affected whilst you take a well earned rest! How do you ensure your customers needs are met whilst you enjoy the holidays? #summer #holiday #hospitality #innovation #lomay24

Biden's time in White House includes 48 YEARS' worth of vacations By World Net Daily on September 7, 2024 This story was originally published by the WND News Center. Joe Biden has been taking criticism over the last few weeks for taking one vacation after another. In fact, after the Democrat National Convention he left for one vacation. Then went from that vacation immediately to another. Some of that likely is because he's on his way out of the administration, having been pushed out of the 2024 campaign by elites in the Democrat party who picked Kamala Harris as his replacement. But the recent lengthy string of holidays for Biden isn't even the worst of the problem, according to Washington Examiner columnist Paul Bedard. He reveals that Biden, in fact, has taken "48 years worth of vacation in three years." That's the opposite direction from what most Americans go in their vacations. "Americans continue to deprive themselves of vacations, taking an average of 11 days a year, even fewer than the famous workaholics in Japan," he said. "Expedia's Annual Vacation Deprivation Report showed that Americans, on average, get 12 paid days off a year but don't even take all that. In Japan, workers take 12 days off annually. The travel firm said that many Americans claim that they are too busy for a break." The report said Americans are nearly twice as likely to go a year or more between vacations, 32% compared to 18% globally. Not so with Joe. "Biden has spent 532 days on vacation in less than four years, according to RNC Research," the report said. "Using Expedia's average of time off Americans take, Biden's tally is the equivalent of over 48 years of vacations — 48.3 years, to be exact." for rest, go to... https://lnkd.in/gzcTvgCx

Have you ever not taken all your holiday entitlement? Have you ever saved all your holiday up? Have you ever rolled holiday over because you're just too busy at work? No one to cover you? Deadlines just too complicated... Have you just not booked holiday because you didn't have anything to do? I am guilty of all the above! At one point I thought not taking all my holiday was a good thing ... I was being conscientious and putting work first, I wasn't putting on colleagues and causing them stress, I even saw it as a badge of honour that I hadn't taken any holiday! Now with a couple of decades (okay a few) of working under my belt holidays are something I see very differently... Holidays are just as important as your work days! What if success is not based on the amount of your holiday you don't take but the holiday you do take? What if your clients appreciate the fact you take holiday? Mine are! They know the time zone I am in and we are making it work! My candidates are loving that they know I'm available at certain times. I am getting loads of downtime and loads of work done! I'm not stressed, I'm not worrying what's going on or having a sneaky look what's going on (or not in my absence!) Holidays - they are part of your contract you have the right to take them as much as your employer should be supporting you in taking them! Rather than looking at holidays as an inconvenience I think we should be looking at them as a right that as employees, colleagues and employers should be encouraging. What do you think? #holidayentitlement #annualleave #whatdoyouthink

Holidays like the 4th of July are vacations for most, but for transit agency staff they are some of the most difficult days of the year. Parades and street closures result in detours that leave staff scrambling. Whether for holidays like July 4th or everyday disruptions, detours are a pain point for every transit agency. Today, we’re thrilled to add another feature to ease the burden: Multi-route detours are now available in Service Adjustments. With a few clicks, staff can now create the same detour across multiple routes in seconds, automatically updating internal data and public real-time passenger information. Learn more about detours with Swiftly here: https://lnkd.in/gXAgntv5
