We were honored to attend the 2024 USGBC West Michigan Annual Party and Leadership Awards dinner December 5, 2024, where Ruth Park was recognized as the winner for the Certified Green Building Award - Multifamily Mid-Rise.  Ruth Park is a 58-unit affordable general occupancy community in Traverse City where affordable housing has been in short supply for the city’s workforce. Thank you to Michigan State Housing Development Authority, the City of Traverse City, Marble Cliff Capital, Independent Bank, and Bellwether Enterprise for supporting Ruth Park, in addition to the Traverse City Housing Commission. Yesterday's ceremonial groundbreaking for Bridlewood Crossing highlighted the power of strong vision and collaboration employed to create 76 new affordable homes for Louisville seniors, including those who suffer mental illness and disabilities and who are facing or are at risk of homelessness. It was fun to celebrate with co-developers Wellspring (Louisville, KY) and Smith Solutions, and also supporters and partners Louisville Metro Government, Louisville Affordable Housing Trust Fund, Kentucky Housing Corporation, Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing, Stock Yards Bank & Trust, Cedar Rapids Bank & Trust. Bridlewood Crossing will serve residents aged 55 and older with units reserved for residents at a mix of incomes up to 70% area median income. Twenty-three units will be prioritized for seniors who are disabled and homeless or at risk of homelessness and who are served by Wellspring with support from the Louisville Metro Housing Authority.   "Everyone in our city deserves access to housing that is safe, healthy, and affordable. We are working with urgency to create 15,000 affordable housing units across Louisville, and this project is another step toward that goal,” said Mayor Craig Greenberg. “We are proud to contribute to this project, which will ensure more of our senior neighbors have a dry, warm, and secure place to live." It was a pleasure to host a ribbon-cutting celebration this past Friday at Hemming Crossing in Carrollton, OH. Hemming Crossing offers 42 new affordable rental homes for residents 55 years of age and over with incomes of 30% to 70% area median income. It was made possible with funding supported by Low-Income Housing Tax Credits allocated by the Ohio Housing Finance Agency (OHFA). OHFA also provided an equity bridge loan. Marble Cliff Capital provided equity financing and Consumers National Bank provided a mortgage, construction loan, and was Marble Cliff's investor. Appalachian Growth Capital, LLC provided a second mortgage.  It was fun to host residents, community, partners, plus a large contingent of guests from Novogradac & Company LLP's at Hemming Crossing. What an honor! The Doris on Main was named the Multi Family Project of the Year by the Home Builders Association of West Virginia. The Doris is a 46-unit market rate apartment community in downtown Wheeling that helps answer a need for downtown housing with easy access to jobs, restaurants, retail and service outlets, sporting events, churches, medical clinics, and cultural events. Thank you to the City of Wheeling, PNC Bank, the Regional Economic Development Partnership (REDP) and Ohio Valley ADC, Inc. for supporting the The Doris named in honor of Jeffrey Woda's mother, Doris Ann Ingold Woda. She was a local Wheeling businesswoman and also was instrumental in founding the company. Mr. Woda accepted the award last weekend at the organization's annual convention held in Wheeling. Congrats to the WV team!
