How great it is to receive not just one, but two awards 🏆🏆, for our achievements this year! At this year’s Hong Kong Volunteer Award ceremony, we received the Outstanding Corporate Award – Merit Award among businesses with 100 or more full-time employees, acknowledging our efforts 🙌in promoting volunteering inside and outside of the bank. For the second year running, we were also named as one of the city’s top 10 corporates with the highest number of volunteer hours among businesses with 1,000 or more employees. The Volunteer Award is a recognition scheme co-organised by the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau, HKSAR Government and the 義務工作發展局Agency for Volunteer Service. This year, #HSBCVolunteers contributed close to 50,000 hours to a wide range of projects that inspire, educate and empower people from different walks of life; and we are looking forward to serving the #community even more in the coming year! ⭐ https://lnkd.in/gNPp7bf5 #HSBC #HBF

“A helping hand” can have different meanings. We reach out to offer support with our hands. 🤝 We comfort someone by holding their hand. And at other times, we roll up our sleeves and get our hands dirty to help others get things done. Over nearly four-and-a-half decades, we’ve aimed to be the “helping hand” to those in need by supporting more than 10,000 charitable projects, whilst distributing more than HK$2.6 billion in grants to help address #community needs. These philanthropic efforts solidify our deep commitment 💪 to the welfare of the city we call home, and our determination to continue our work lending a helping hand to the community. https://lnkd.in/gJWGdujh #HSBC #HBF

How fun it is to be part of the Inter-Company Volunteer Week for the first time! As one of 30 participating companies, we joined forces with Time Auction🤝on this annual community-wide volunteering campaign, which runs from 1-20 December. Yesterday, a group of #HSBCVolunteers spent time at Rise Wise Foundation, learning how therapy dogs 🐶can bring joy and emotional support to children with special educational needs. If you’re an HSBC colleague, it’s not too late for you to join other volunteering opportunities under the campaign: https://lnkd.in/g_Qnnj-Q Sign up to pay it forward 💝 for our #community! #HSBC #HBF

It’s been a game-changing year for some of our #HSBCVolunteers, as they went on a journey of discovery with about 50 young people with autism or Down syndrome – exploring their talents and learning about their dreams 💭. Through partnership with Love 21 Foundation, The Sovereign Art Foundation Limited and WISE 匯菁, in the HSBC GameChanger programme, the mentors and mentees built precious friendships over the past seven months by attending workshops together. What’s more, they also got to have a taste of working in different sectors at renowned companies including foodpanda and more! But that’s not the end! The #GameChanger team will be sharing their stories and showcasing their artworks 🎨 at Central Market tomorrow! Be inspired 💡 by their stories and let’s promote a more inclusive #community for all by supporting them at the Market’s 1/F event space, from 1pm-6pm! #HSBC #HBF

We’re proudly supporting Diamond Cab Foundation to provide safe and accessible taxi services 🚗 for elderly people in the #community. Diamond Cabs are designed with mechanical or manual ramps that make it easier for wheelchair users to get on board. Since 2020, the firm’s charity arm has been offering free taxi rides to senior citizens heading to medical check-ups 🩺. Over the next year, we’ll sponsor 1,500 Diamond Cab charity rides, helping more elderly people with mobility needs get to non-urgent medical appointments. If you know of an elderly person in need of the service, contact Diamond Cab (Hong Kong) Ltd.: 2521 1628. https://grp.hsbc/6045tHSH3 #HSBC #HBF #Community #Taxi #Accessiblity

Do you know what ingredients we need to build this giant meal box 🍱that’s currently exhibiting at Olympian City 2? Well, they include 11,565 cans of food, about 10 hours of work by 60 #HSBCVolunteers, and endless love and care for the #community! The colossal art installation made entirely out of food cans 🥫 is one of the artworks that’s being put on display by Food Angel by Bo Charity Foundation, as part of its annual fundraising campaign to raise awareness about hunger and poverty. The cans collected from the public during the exhibition will support Food Angel’s work making meals and providing food for the needy. You can also donate money – and we’re matching donations to this appeal HK dollar for HK dollar! 💝 Check out the installation in Olympian City 2 before 24 November! https://lnkd.in/gdupwhEf #HSBC #HBF Brian Hui

You’re never too old to learn and we believe it’s important to empower #elderly 👴👵 people with the knowledge to plan and manage their finances💲. By providing financial and professional support to the newly-launched Wealth Intelligence for Smart Elders (WISE) Course under the Elder Academy scheme, we’re assisting senior citizens in Hong Kong to learn about topics like #fintech, retirement planning and how they can protect themselves against scams 📱. The Elder Academy scheme was first launched by the Labour and Welfare Bureau and the Elderly Commission in 2007, with the aim of enabling retirees around the age of 60 to learn in a school setting 🎒. The scheme is expected to benefit around 15,000 elderly people in the coming year. And with this new WISE course, we’re excited to see how the elder academy students will learn more about financial management skills and put them into practice 🎓! https://lnkd.in/ggnamyBm #HSBC #HBF Kristy Cheng William Chiu

“The journey of trial and error ⚠️ is important in entrepreneurship,” said Justin Chan, advisor to HSBC’s Co-Chief Executives for Asia-Pacific, at the ‘360 Entrepreneurs Workshop’ on Saturday. The workshop was held by Junior Achievement Hong Kong (JA) as the first activity for the HSBC x JA Company Programme 2024-25 cohort. Over 400 secondary school students attended and learnt some practical tips 💡on how to start a business from entrepreneurs from different sectors. Under the guidance of #HSBCVolunteers and other advisors, they will have a chance to put their learning to test and start their own businesses 💰 in the coming months! We look forward to seeing what their business ideas are! #HSBC #HBF #Community #Youth
