  • 🍂 As we approach Thanksgiving, let’s take a moment to reflect on what we’re truly grateful for: our exceptional workforce. This time of year reminds us of the importance of community and family values. The Hagerty family is a shining example of this spirit, starting with Philly Shipyard’s Transportation Coordinator, Bill Hagerty. As he prepares to retire, Bill’s remarkable 22-year journey at the Shipyard has laid the foundation for future generations, specifically his own. Frank and Franklin Hagerty carry on the family legacy, reminding us of the commitment and pride that runs deep in our workforce. We are thankful for the bonds built, the skills nurtured, and the dedication of every team member who contributes to our mission. Our partnerships with local welding schools and our focus on workforce development reflect our commitment to shaping a skilled future for shipbuilding in our community. As we celebrate Thanksgiving, we invite you to explore our 2023 Sustainability Report. Discover how we’re advancing our goals, supporting our employees, and ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come. Wishing everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving week filled with gratitude and joy! https://lnkd.in/ej64XJxJ

  • Emily is paving the way for the next generation of skilled professionals! At Philly Shipyard, our apprenticeship is more than just a path to learn a craft—it's a community where individuals grow both personally and professionally. Emily says, “I have learned so much and strengthened my welding skills,” proving that hands-on experience is the best tool for success. As we look to the future, we hope that other trades workers are inspired by apprentices like Emily who challenges what it looks like to take a leap of faith in a new career- and succeed. We can’t wait to see her thrive as a union journeyperson and future leader! We’re continuing to celebrate apprentices this week and the invaluable contributions they make to our industry and community! 💙 #NAW2024 #DecadeOfNAW #ApprenticeshipUSA #20YearsStrong U.S. Department of Labor

  • Meet Casey, who’s thriving in our supportive environment! The bonds formed here are just as valuable as the skills learned. Reflecting on their time at Philly Shipyard, Casey shared, “My most memorable experience was finishing up the academy and finally getting out into the yard. I challenged myself and saw real progress. The apprenticeship taught me to learn from my failures and strive to be better every day.” 🤝 What sets our program apart? It’s the amazing community! Casey emphasized the camaraderie among apprentices: “The best thing about being an apprentice is being surrounded by people in my shop who want to see me succeed. I wouldn’t be where I am today without them.” Here’s to every apprentice carving their path and continuously building their skills. The future is bright, and we can’t wait to see where it takes you! #NAW2024 #DecadeOfNAW #ApprenticeshipUSA #20YearsStrong U.S. Department of Labor
