Max Farrell reflects on two years as President of LAI's London chapter 🎉

Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, in collaboration with the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design and Design Connects, is thrilled to co-organize the U.S. Pavilion at the 19th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia under the theme “PORCH: An Architecture of Generosity.” The exhibition celebrates the porch as a quintessential American architectural space, a place that fosters connection, resilience, and a sense of community. We invite architects, designers, artists, nonprofits, public agencies, and individuals across the U.S. and its territories to submit built projects that reflect this iconic typology. The pavilion will feature at least 50 participants, showcasing projects that span scales, geographies, and histories. Submissions are open now through January 17, 2025, at 12:00 PM EST. ✨️Kicking off the festive season with the LAI London chapter ✨️💫🌟 Amongst the crackers, silly jokes and merriment, I was thrilled to receive my membership certificate and pin from Max Farrell , the outgoing chapter President in recognition of my contribution to Land Economics and the Built Environment. Also happy to share that I will be joining the incoming President Frances Heeney in the new Executive Team as Treasurer, alongside Nick Colley, CFA (Vice President), Ryan Gill (Marketing & Communications) and Mark Davy (Events). Yesterday marked a wonderful year-end LAI London gathering, where we officially kicked off the holiday season! More importantly, we celebrated Max Farrell and Laura Mazzeo, who have completed their tenure as President and Vice President of the London chapter! These two have led the LAI London chapter to grow significantly, with a number of milestone events, thoughtful conversations and meaningful connectivity across the built environment!   I am excited to announce that I will take on the role of President of the LAI London Chapter, alongside the newly appointed executive committee: Nick Colley, (Vice President), Ryan Gill (Marketing & Communications), Tanisha Raffiuddin (Treasurer) and Mark Davy (Events).   Keep an eye out in 2025 for some fantastic events!
