About us
Lambda Alpha International (LAI) is an honorary, non-political, not-for-profit professional organization. The purpose and mission of LAI is to advance the study and practice of land economics—the practice of designing, developing, valuing, and husbanding the use and maintenance of real property as a social good. As an honorary organization established to recognize and facilitate interaction among the leaders in all professions contributing to land economics, LAI strives to encourage shared knowledge among its members and to encourage them to create, support, and participate in educational and training activities aimed at promulgating sound land economic practices. LAI seeks to foster highly ethical practices and encourage learning and exchange among its members through meetings, discussions, social interaction, and community activities organized at a local Chapter level and through international meetings and events. LAI provides opportunities for members to propose and test ideas in an atmosphere of support and honest dialogue.

Congratulations to the University of Maryland BioPark! Lambda Alpha International (LAI) Baltimore is honored to host our meetings at such a wonderful venue.
I am pleased to share great Baltimore Development Corporation news featured in the Baltimore Business Journal (https://lnkd.in/eUqjBDJp). The article highlights the exciting development of Connect Labs by Wexford, a transitional wet lab space at the University of Maryland BioPark, which recently received $2.2 million in funding from the state and city. This project directly aligns with the goals of Baltimore Together, particularly Strategy 3.9: Build from Strength—developing wet lab space to house emerging firms before they move to permanent facilities. With Connect Labs, we are addressing a key gap in the market, supporting entrepreneurs, and fostering a dynamic life sciences ecosystem that keeps companies in Baltimore. By 2028, this initiative is expected to create 100 new jobs, underscoring its significant impact on our economy and innovation landscape.
