Last week USAID Ethiopia Resilience Learning Activity hosted the two day learning event "Food Security in Action: Building Resilience in Ethiopia." Each day featured a series of engaging discussions and sharing key lessons learned. Biodiversity is at the foundation of healthy human and natural communities. USAID’s Biodiversity Policy has been a north star for so much of our work from strengthening the enabling conditions for adaptive management under Measuring Impact I and II to supporting conservation communications under LAC ESSC. We’re so pleased to see USAID leading the way again with the 2024 Biodiversity Policy. Degradation is widespread in our lands and waters, but together we can conserve biodiversity and catalyze development. We’re also proud of the team from USAID’s Advancing Capacity for the Environment (ACE) project who provided communications and knowledge management and web support for the launch.  #USAID #Biodiversity

We’re thrilled to share two recent journal articles co-authored by our team and USAID staff, advancing the evidence-to-action pathway in development: 📄 Using technical assistance to bridge evidence-to-action gaps in biodiversity conservation (published in Conservation Science and Practice) explores how tailored support and collaboration can facilitate high-quality evidence use in biodiversity programs. 📄 Mapping drivers of land conversion among smallholders: A global systems perspective (published in Agricultural Systems) documents key factors behind land conversion and provides practical recommendations for decision makers. These contributions fill a key need in the conservation evidence space, setting the stage to connect learning to action and real-world impact.
