We’re excited to announce a partnership with The Petey Greene Program to conduct an assessment of its College Bridge and College Tutoring programs that support the academic goals of individuals who are currently or formerly incarcerated. “We look forward to applying our extensive experience in program evaluation and evaluability assessment to support PGP’s mission of providing high-quality academic support to individuals who are incarcerated or formerly incarcerated,” said Samuel Scaggs, Ph.D., a research criminologist at RTI leading the project. “Our assessment will provide PGP with recommendations as it looks to measure the effectiveness of its offerings.” https://lnkd.in/eiDnJRkb

  • In profound sympathy, RTI International extends heartfelt condolences to the Carter family and the dedicated staff of The Carter Center on the passing of former U.S. President Jimmy Carter. President Carter’s extraordinary leadership as a humanitarian, including his lifelong pursuit of health, peace, and human rights, has been an inspiration to us and to so many people around the world. He used his time and talents to shine a light on some of the most pressing issues of our time, and for that we are incredibly grateful. May President Carter's legacy continue to guide us as we persevere in the pursuit of a healthier, more equitable, and peaceful future for all. https://lnkd.in/eChcRjC6

Dengue cases are on the rise globally, with Latin America and Southeast Asia experiencing record-breaking outbreaks. At the same time, diabetes—a significant risk factor for severe dengue—is projected to affect over 1 billion people by 2050. The intersection of these two health challenges could result in increased severe dengue cases and dengue-related mortality, particularly in countries with a high burden of both diseases. In a newly published Commentary in the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine & Hygiene’s #InternationalHealth journal, RTI International experts Dr. Donal Bisanzio and Dr. Richard Reithinger, alongside Cassia Fernanda Estofolete (Faculty of Medicine of São José do Rio Preto), explore the complex interplay between these conditions and its implications for health systems. They highlight the urgent need for integrated strategies to mitigate this dual burden and its socioeconomic impact. 📖Find out more on the insights and policy recommendations by reading the full Commentary: https://lnkd.in/dz5QdjBn
