The advancements by EagleView (Pictometry) in the imagery technology has revolutionized the way we do our jobs!
Think a square foot is just a square foot? 🧐 Not when it comes to GSD in aerial imagery! This simple graphic shows how much pixel data is captured in the same 12"x12" area at different GSDs: 🔶 12" GSD = 1 pixel (the least detail) 🔶 6" GSD = 4 pixels 🔶 3" GSD = 16 pixels 🔶 1" GSD = 144 pixels (the highest detail) The jump to 1-inch GSD means a massive increase in clarity, providing 144x more pixel data than 12" GSD and 9x more than 3" GSD. That’s the 'less is more' advantage—smaller GSD means more detail and better decisions for state and local governments.
