Happy holidays from our team to yours! 🎊 Here's some of our North Carolina crew, who recently gathered to volunteer at a local food bank before sharing a festive lunch together. #AuroraSolar

When it comes to #timeofuse rates, "it's important to understand your usage pattern. There are certain needs that you can't necessarily shift," said Fox Swim of Aurora Solar. "You'll need your air conditioner to kick on as soon as you get home from work, but you can decide to dry your clothes at night. Understanding those needs can help you choose a rate plan that works for you." #AuroraSolar (via CNET) https://cnet.co/4i0Qed8

“We could see renewables finally pass 50% of the generation grid capacity in ten years,” said Fox Swim, solar industry researcher for Aurora Solar. “One of the complaints about #renewables is that the U.S. grid cannot manage intermittent energy. That doesn’t mean we can't build a grid to handle that. This ruling will let regional authorities make the network more renewables friendly and increase #gridstability.” https://bit.ly/403AFJN #AuroraSolar

Panels and pinot go hand in hand, it seems. 🍷🍇 🤝 ☀️🔋 In a recent study, French grapes grown under solar panels produced wine with 1.5% less alcohol, preserving acidity in white wines and enhancing the aroma profile. The #agrivoltaics system apparently also protected against frost, preventing temperature drops and improving plants' survival rates, with mortality reduced by 25% to 50%. 🇫🇷 We'll drink to that! #AuroraSolar https://bit.ly/49BoJmB

Happy holidays from our team to yours! ❄️ We've loved seeing Aurorans gather across the world—like our #Atlanta team, seen here—to celebrate another year working on behalf of the #solar industry. #AuroraSolar

In the United States, #solar accounted for over half of all new power last year. But the most dramatic growth is happening overseas. 👀 The latest report from the International Energy Agency (IEA) shows solar on track to overtake all other forms of energy by 2033. Our world’s use of #fossilfuels is already plateauing (the U.S. hit its #peakdemand for fossil fuel energy in 2007), but energy demand is rising, with #renewables stepping in to make up the difference. “The really interesting debate now...is actually: When do we push fossil fuels off the plateau? And from our numbers, if solar keeps on growing this way, it’s going to be off the plateau by the end of this decade.” (via The Atlantic) https://bit.ly/4f8wJNY

Even if your homeowner's roof is sometimes shaded, that doesn't mean you can't install #solar for them. 🧠 As the sun moves across the sky, it will shine on different parts of the roof. And an oak or weeping willow that provides a little afternoon shade won't necessarily impact the panels' ability to produce sunlight in the morning and midday. 🌳 "You get most of the energy from your solar panels between around 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. After that, the energy you get from the sun falls off exponentially," said Fox Swim, senior solar industry researcher at Aurora Solar.
