My kids are getting old enough to really understand what me and my husband Nick Whitman do for work, so it was super special for our 10 year old to travel with Nick to Divert's stunning new clean energy facility in California. (Sizzle reel in the link below). Nick and I talk often with our kids about why we choose work that is positive for people and the planet. I am so proud of Nick Whitman and Ryan Begin and the whole team at Divert — and so happy that our son had the chance to see first hand what it looks like to create real change. We're encouraged to see New York taking steps to expand organic waste diversion with S5331, signed by Governor Hochul on December 12. 📃👏 This legislation expands the diversion requirements to new waste generators across the state to encourage more diversion participation. We look forward to working with stakeholders to shape implementation so that New York businesses can comply and meet their ESG goals. At Divert, we’re passionate about helping businesses and lawmakers shape actionable waste prevention and diversion policies nationwide. Celebrating a milestone in our journey to deliver a net zero energy system by 2040! Congratulations to our Gas Engineering and Operations teams for interconnecting California’s first food waste-to-renewable natural gas (RNG) production facility with Pacific Gas and Electric Company’s system in Turlock. In collaboration with Divert and the City of Turlock, this project is another step closer toward our goal of reaching 30 billion cubic feet (Bcf) of #RNG flowing within our pipelines by 2030. These projects are a win for everyone – turning waste and Greenhouse Gas Emissions (GHG) into clean, renewable energy that supports PG&E’s and California’s #climategoals. So proud of my coworkers! #cleanenergy #wepowerprogress #sustainability #deliveringforourhometowns Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gB_pugCT Ryan Begin, Amy Bublak, MPA Retired LEO, Jason Brown, Dana Cagle, Fred Han, Austin Hastings, Zoe Heller, Jason King, Eric Larson, Steve Moorleghen, Dana Rice, Karl Schroeder, Joshua Simes, Abigail Solis, Melissa Subbotin Sillin, Chris Thomas
