During a recent visit to Astoria, our team welcomed Governor Tina Kotek as she toured the Owens Adair apartments—a historic affordable housing community for low-income seniors and disabled residents—and the adjacent Owens Adair II construction site. The existing 46-unit building, originally part of the historic St. Mary’s Hospital complex, is undergoing preservation efforts, while the expansion will add 50 new units by 2026. Owens Adair II is led by #NorthwestOregonHousingAuthority, which will serve as the long-term owner and operator, with Community Development Partners acting as the development consultant. Highlighting the power of state and local partnerships, Governor Kotek praised legislative efforts that have enabled and supported this project. A long-time advocate for affordable housing, Kotek celebrated the progress being made to address the region’s housing needs. As featured in a recent article: "As she and local politicians stood with hard hats and construction vests on the small parking lot where the future Owens Adair II will open its doors to residents in 2026, a rainbow emerged from the clouds over the river. Kotek took it as a sign. 'See?' she said. 'More housing is coming!'" Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/gvAgK9XR

We're topped out at Julia West House! 🏗️ 👏 At 12 stories tall, Julia West House is CDP's first high rise and the tallest cross-laminated timber (CLT) structure of its kind in Oregon. JWH is an amazing example of how mass timber can be a viable option for delivering cost effective affordable housing that is sustainable and beautiful. Using mass timber has created impactful schedule and cost savings, making the project possible. The efforts of our team to bring CLT to this project as been a magical dance of collaboration across disciplines and we're really proud to see every major milestone met. The site is extremely tight, which has required our design/build partners to be in lock step with one another at all times. A huge s/o to Holst, Walsh Construction Co., KPFF Consulting Engineers and Carpentry Plus, Inc. JWH is a PSH community designed to serve houseless elders and BIPOC individuals who are exiting chronic homelessness. The building will provide 90 studio and one-bedroom homes with resident services tailored by Northwest Pilot Project, Inc., Native American Rehabilitation Association of the Northwest, Inc. (NARA), and The Community for Positive Aging. These organizations will collaborate with Multnomah County’s Joint Office of Homeless Services (JOHS) and the Coordinated Access system to identify and transition future residents into the building.

We're thrilled to announce the start of construction at Owen’s Adair II in downtown Astoria! This 50-unit community will provide much-needed affordable housing for low-income seniors, people with disabilities, and individuals experiencing chronic homelessness. The #NorthwestOregonHousingAuthority will serve as the long-term owner and operator, with CDP working as a development consultant. Owen’s II is thoughtfully designed to reflect and complement the historic Owens Adair, a 1931 addition to the St. Mary’s Hospital complex—Astoria's first hospital, founded in 1880. With construction underway, we're looking forward to welcoming residents in 2026! Read the press release here: https://lnkd.in/gjH2Bbiv

We’re thrilled to introduce Mariposa Village as the official name of our Rand Road project in Hood River! Inspired by the Monterey Mariposa Lily—a beautiful three-petaled wetland flower native to Oregon—the name "Mariposa" also means "butterfly" in Spanish, symbolizing transformation and hope. This name reflects our commitment to creating a vibrant, inclusive community. We chose this name in collaboration with an incredible group of partners—#ColumbiaCascadeHousingCorp, The City of Hood River, and local organizations The Next Door Inc. and Oregon Human Development Corporation (OHDC). Stay tuned as Mariposa Village continues to take shape! Read the entire statement here: https://lnkd.in/gv-FfD3V

(SEI), will bring 75 affordable homes to families in N/NE Portland with incomes between 30% and 60% of the area median income. Part of the Alberta Alive vision, this development is designed to create long-term stability and opportunity for the Black community in N/NE Portland. We were joined by speakers Trent Aldridge, Tony Hopson Sr., Dr. Jackie Strong, Dr. Mark Strong, Rekah Strong, Councilor Mary Nolan, Commissioner Carmen Caballero Rubio, Dr. Steven Holt, and Leslie Goodlow. Expected to open in 2026, the development will feature a mix of 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom units, community gathering spaces, an outdoor courtyard, and play areas.
