STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLORADO — When Gary Suiter, one of Colorado’s most respected and experienced city managers, announced his retirement (late-January, 2025), an amazing opportunity opened up in the City of Steamboat Springs, Ski Town USA. Over the last 8.5 years, Gary has assembled a high-performing leadership team, serving an engaged city council full of strong personalities, and a growing community that is both a world-class destination ski resort and a western mountain town. Thank you for an excellent start to another great recruitment during our recent kickoff. Position details to follow in a subsequent post, and materials are available now at https://columbialtd.com. Light & Sons downtown (since 1905); clarity of mission and values to support “One Team, One Goal, One City”; and superior graphic design that captures the twin pillars of the city’s heritage, the west and world-class skiing. https://columbialtd.com #localgovernment #executivesearch

  • Papa’s Got A Brand New House For The Holidays! The Streets Department made sure they are on Santa’s good list when they provided an extensive makeover to his longtime Steamboat Springs study. The original Santa Study was donated to Main Street by Steamboat Ski & Resort Corp. about 20 years ago. The structure was used as a lift shack before being turned into Santa’s downtown study. As with any home, it needs constant maintenance and at some point, a comprehensive makeover. The Streets team gathered wood pieces and other materials from around the shop along with donations collected over the summer by Main Street Ambassadors to purchase paint and finishing touches. The remodeled study has a deck, new set of stairs and a fresh coat of paint. As we all know, nine reindeers move Santa’s sleigh and the new study sits atop a repurposed trailer, making it easy to move around. Santa will be in his new residence on the Routt County Courthouse on Saturday from 11am to 1pm starting December 7 and running through December 21
