This December, we’re delighted to have distributed festive hampers to families we support in London and the East of England.   These hampers bring a little extra comfort and warmth during a challenging time for many.   A huge thank you to Barratt East London (Barratt London) for their generous donations, and for helping coordinate the delivery to our London families — your kindness has made such a difference.    Together, we’re making the festive season brighter for families. • Every day, 12,000 people across the UK take on the role of an unpaid carer for a partner, family member, or friend. Many are unaware of their legal rights or the support available to them. This reality, highlighted by Carers UK, reminds us how crucial it is to recognise and support carers in our communities. Last month, we joined the nation in marking Carers Rights Day, which this year focused on the theme "Recognising Your Rights." We're proud to share that, in response to listening to our people, we’ve introduced a stand-alone Carers Leave Policy at Barratt Redrow. This policy is a meaningful step towards supporting our colleagues who balance their professional lives with caring responsibilities. With the help of our Family Connect network, we’re committed to fostering a culture where every carer feels valued, supported, and empowered to thrive. #BuildingWithoutBarriers #Carers

We welcome the new National Planning Policy Framework announced today by Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government which underlines the government’s commitment to building 1.5 million new homes, driving economic growth, and tackling the housing crisis.   Delivering on that commitment will need local government, central government and the housebuilding industry to work together constructively over the months and years ahead.   Planning positively to increase housing numbers across the country is a key first step, alongside increased resource in our planning system and measures to make it easier to deliver homes on brownfield land and grey belt.   As the UK’s largest housebuilder, with an ambition to increase our housing delivery to 22,000 homes a year, we are ready to play our part in building the high quality, energy efficient homes and communities the country needs. #MakingSustainableLivingaReality #BuildingStrongCommunities #GetBritainBuilding

  • This Christmas, The Barratt Foundation is helping support young people experiencing homelessness by donating £10,000 to EveryYouth’s Big Give campaign. The number of young people experiencing homelessness has reached its highest level in years. At the same time, the rising cost of living has made it harder for charities to provide essential support. The funds raised by the Big Give campaign will pay for emergency accommodation so that young people do not have to face homelessness over Christmas. Once safe, they can then begin to access EveryYouth’s wider services to make sure they can leave homelessness behind for good. Find out more about the Big Give here: https://lnkd.in/ePYdjhpE The Barratt Foundation represents Barratt Redrow, across all of its charitable work. The Foundation’s vision is to help communities throughout the UK to thrive, focusing its support on children and young people and those most disadvantaged.

Matthew Annalls, Site Manager at our Harbour Place development in Havant, Hampshire, became our third Regional Award winner in the NHBC Pride in the Job awards. "Receiving a Seal of Excellence Award is an exceptional accolade, but to be a Regional Winner is incredible," said Matt, who won the large builder category in the South West region of the competition.    "Barratt Redrow builds high-quality homes, and I am proud to reflect that ethos into my work and instil it into others. I’m delighted to have won this award on behalf of my whole team.”   Barratt Redrow has won more Pride in the Job awards than any other housebuilder for 20 years, with its site managers winning 111 Quality Awards, 29 Seals of Excellence and three Regional Awards in 2024. 🏆   Matt will now join fellow regional winners Kirk Raine and Matthew Coyle to compete for the Supreme Award in January.   🌳🏡 #BarrattRedrow #Prideinthejob #Quality

Barratt Homes Manchester is sponsoring a 10K run in Blackburn to raise funds for its chosen charity of #ANDYSMANCLUB. The event will take place this Sunday from 9:30am, and has been organised in partnership with RunThrough and Blackburn Rovers Football Club. The course starts and ends at Ewood Park, which will be open to spectators, with music, food and entertainment to enjoy. Set up in 2016 in memory of Andrew Roberts, Andy’s Man Club is now a national charity with over 150 sessions in the country dedicated to suicide prevention and taking care of men’s mental health. Men from the age of 18 upwards are invited to speak openly in a judgement-free environment to improve their wellbeing through a support network. The team of 20 runners from Barratt Homes Manchester aims to raise £5,000 for Andy’s Man Club. Alan Watt, Sales Director at Barratt Homes Manchester, said: “We are proud of our team for helping to organise the Blackburn 10K and are delighted to see approximately 1,500 people having signed up so far. Andy’s Man Club supports 4,500 men every week through its army of over 1,600 volunteers, so this is important work that relies on fundraising.” Ryan Loftus, Events, Partnerships and Facilities Manager at Blackburn Rovers Community Trust, said: “It’s great that we can host the Blackburn 10K once again this year. It has been a very successful event over the past few years, and it always brings the community together. We can’t wait to welcome everyone for what I am sure will be a fantastic day.” To donate to the fundraising, please visit: https://lnkd.in/ejPawwGJ

  • We've won the prestigious Access Award from the British Horse Society (The) for creating a new 5km network of bridle paths at our Centurion Village development. The paths, which extend through local parks and connect with the wider community, will keep riders and their horses safe and away from busy roads, and can be used by everyone. Rhys Nicholson, Managing Director at Barratt Manchester, said: “Ulnes Walton Bridleways Association is carrying out fantastic work to help keep both horses and their riders safe from the ever-increasing traffic on our roads. We hope our bridleways and the wider network will help our equine companions to stay safe, whilst allowing cyclists and others looking to avoid busy roads to enjoy a peaceful journey throughout Leyland.” The Barratt Foundation also made a £1,500 donation to Ulnes Walton Bridleways Association (UWBA), which was formed in 2003 following the death of a horse on local roads and campaigns to improve safety for horses and their riders by creating multi-use paths. We’ve also donated 100 High-Vis vests to the BHS to help keep riders safe throughout the winter.
