If your client may be confused about the terms, then it's up to you to go through them line by line to break down the terms to ensure everyone understands what's being included and excluded from the contract. You may consider using visual aids since not all adults are able to process information best when it's delivered orally, and this may help better illustrate the key points that you are explaining. Finally and most importantly, you should present yourself as both knowledgeable and approachable so that your clients feel open to ask any other questions they may have now or in the future.

If the client is lacking clarity in the contract it's 2 things that come to mind. Was the contract written in a way that is confusing and should be reviewed by our team to see how we can keep the language we need, while at the same time offering a document that communicates the terms and conditions of the agreement, clearly and effectively. However that's hindsight which is almost always 20/20 or better. For issues stemming from lack of clarity, start first with a live client review. Live is the key, it's an opportunity to really work with the clients, allay any fears, soften and rough edges and make it known that WE will navigate this together. In the end if billable hours are needed then then that's a different conversation.
