When faced with skepticism, sharing success stories and testimonials from other clients can demonstrate the value and effectiveness of these techniques. Involving clients in the decision-making process ensures they feel heard and respected, allowing them to have a say in the methods used. This approach not only builds trust but also empowers clients, fostering an environment where they feel comfortable and open to embracing change. Through patience and a supportive stance, resistance can slowly transform into acceptance and enthusiasm for the journey ahead.

I would graciously accept their "no" and continue with the agreed upon technique. As a coach I only use techniques that my clients consent to. They may or may not want to try that other technique in the future and they now know it's an option. I offer Movement Medicine embodiment techniques for my clients, but it's not for everyone. I find that busy working people who are tied to their computer often lose the connection to body. And I would never force anyone to do anything they don't want or aren't ready for. I have had clients re-engage me many months later for the sole/soul purpose of connecting mind and body.

Simply shift from pushing to partnering. We should ask insightful questions to uncover their concerns and also gently guide them to see the benefits. We can always share success stories & show empathy because the measure of intelligence is the ability to change so lets just help them see that change is smart, not scary at all !

Dans l'approche que je pratique (#PaloAlto), je travaille avec le client en explorant différentes phases : Tout d'abord, je dois le rejoindre. C'est là que se crée l'alliance thérapeutique ou de coaching. Je dois voir son problème avec ses yeux, son environnement, et non avec les miens. Ensuite, comprendre comment son problème fonctionne, comment il est entretenu, et lui faire réaliser qu'il en est partie prenante. Une fois qu'il prend conscience de son rôle et voit qu'il peut agir, je l'invite à changer son approche (le 180°). Si un blocage persiste, sa vision du monde ou une émotion peut freiner. Je travaille alors avec lui sur ce qui le retient avant de proposer une nouvelle dynamique.

I ask, “What concerns you about trying this?” or “What would make you feel more comfortable exploring something new?” Next, I connect the technique to their goals. I show them how this approach aligns with their vision and can accelerate their progress. People are more open when they see the direct benefit to what matters most to them. Start small—introducing the technique in a low-pressure way, framing it as an experiment. Success isn’t about forcing change; it’s about earning trust and creating a safe space where growth feels possible. Resistance fades when clients feel seen, respected, and empowered
