My first boss always told me, "The only difference between you and an expert is the expert has slides". Coaching is a lot like that. You just need to have done something that your client wants to do, or you generally have knowledge that helps them on their journey. Neither of those things are something a coach should have doubts about. You know what you know, and you've experienced what you've experienced. Beyond that it's about communicating and establishing a connection with your clients.

Realise that it is only human to face self-doubt. Just like you'd enable your clients in moments of self-doubt, allow yourself some time to take a break, be gentle on yourself, reflect on your past achievements. You will realise that much of what you've achieved now was once a dream, a vision and you had doubts about it too. Self-doubt can be your yellow light, but it sure isn't your red light. Pause, reflect, refresh and go ahead.

More roles you take, the more moments. As a coach and founder, self-doubt happens—it’s part of being human. When it creeps in, I remind myself why I started: the impact I want to create. I lean into my successes, seek feedback, and stay grounded through routines like connecting with my coaching fraternity, my regular fitness regime that keeps me motivated. Confidence isn’t about never doubting; it’s about showing up anyway and trusting the process.
