It is crucial to understand what really motivates all your team members and then, where possible to craft their roles according to those motivators We all have 9 different motivational drivers, they vary in importance for each of us. These drivers of our intrinsic motivation (or in other words our needs) are: Security and stability, Recognition, Meaningful relationships, Being in charge, Earning and competition, Learning and development, Creativity & Problem solving, Freedom and Independence and Making a difference Understanding which of these motivators are important for each team member and supporting them to meet those motivators improves performance, achievement and, importantly, mental health and wellbeing.
