Llamar al abordaje primero a los involucrados y no meter a todo el mundo en el problema, es, desde donde lo veo, clave. A veces, personas que no sabían, terminan enterándose en la etapa de la "curación" Lo principal es no asegurar que el rumor es falso, si no lo es, por ejemplo: cuando se rumorea de una despido y se afronta diciendo que no ocurrirá y ocurre, solo que no en la fecha que decía el rumor, la "aclaración" confirma que el rumor era cierto pero cambiaron la fecha. Ha funcionado mejor pedir a la gente preocupada, atender a las fuertes formales para no generar incomodidad y que esas fuentes estén al día.

A secure and confidential reporting mechanism is vital to ensure safety, fairness, and harmony, fostering a culture where concerns are addressed constructively and without fear of retaliation.

To rebuild unity and restore trust, I address the issue directly and privately with the team member spreading rumors. I try to understand their perspective and clarify the impact of their actions on the team’s trust. It is important to me to emphasize the importance of open communication and transparency. I then involve the team in a discussion to address concerns, reinforce shared values, and set clear expectations for behavior. It is my aim to foster an environment of accountability, where rumors are discouraged, and honesty is prioritized. In my view it is relevant to encourage team-building activities to strengthen relationships and rebuild trust over time.

Before attempting the above solutions I would investigate issues behind the rumors, establish member spreading lies, whistle blowing against wrong doers or else and act accordingly. If lieing is established, the lier will be punished through diciplinery protocols per corporate policies and procedures. Whistle blowing established is welcome and should be managed addressing both sides accordingly, reward where necessary and the culprit taken through diciplinery protocols as above. Toxic members hinder productivity and must be deselected if teams peace and harmony is to be restored at the work place.Whistle blowing/reporting concerns mechanism has to be carefully implemented for safety and workplace peace and harmony.
