Renderings Revealed for Owls Head CSO Facility at 2 2nd Avenue in Gowanus, Brooklyn

Renderings have been revealed the proposed design and master plan for the Owls Head Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) Facility at 2 2nd Avenue in Gowanus, Brooklyn. Designed by Selldorf Architects in collaboration with Hazen and Sawyer, Brown and Caldwell, and SCAPE Landscape Architecture for the New York City Department of Environmental Protection, the facility is planned to yield a 24,750-square-foot head house to support a four-million-gallon underground tank, two acres of public waterfront, and the relocation and redesign of a salt shed for the New York City Department of Sanitation. The project, the second new facility of its type in the borough, would be built along the southern end of the Gowanus Canal on a narrow triangular peninsula, south of the CSO Red Hook site.

Construction is stalled on 2960 Brighton 4th Street, a 12-story residential building in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn. Designed by Dome Architecture for 4th Brighton Realty LLC, the 118-foot-tall structure will span 29,500 square feet and yield 22 condominium units with an average scope of 1,030 square feet, as well as an 8,950-square-foot parking garage for 21 vehicles. The property is located on a 9,450-square-foot plot by the intersection of Brighton 4th Street and Ocean View Avenue.

Excavation Awaits at 179 22nd Street in South Slope, Brooklyn

Excavation has yet to begin at 179 22nd Street, the site of a proposed 12-story mixed-use building in South Slope, Brooklyn. Designed by Michael Kang Architect, PLLC for E. Home Real Estate, LLC, the 125-foot-tall structure will span approximately 71,800 square feet and yield 84 rental units, ground-floor retail space, a community facility, and 6,727 square feet of enclosed parking for 17 vehicles in the cellar. The property is located at the corner 4th Avenue and 22nd Street.

2396 Atlantic Avenue Stands Topped Out in East New York, Brooklyn

Construction has topped out at 2396 Atlantic Avenue, an eight-story hotel in East New York, Brooklyn. Designed by Michael Kang Architect and developed by Nehalkumar Gandhi under the Far Rockaway Equities LLC, the 85-foot-tall structure will span 30,557 square feet and yield 75 hotel rooms with an average scope of 305 square feet, along with a cellar level and a 49-foot-long rear yard. The property is located at the corner of Atlantic Avenue and Sackman Street.

Permits Filed for 103 India Street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn

816 58th Street Awaits Completion In Sunset Park, Brooklyn

Designed by S M Tam Architect, the 28,901-square-foot structure will yield nine residential units with an average scope of 711 square feet, as well as 16,568 square feet of commercial space, a cellar level, and a 5,931-square-foot community facility on levels two and three. The 90-percent complete project sold for $9.8 million this summer to an undisclosed buyer under the Sunrise Brooklyn LLC. The property is located on an interior lot between 8th and 9th Avenues.

Designed by SO-IL with Magnusson Architecture & Planning as the architect of record and developed by Tankhouse and McArthur Holdings, the proposed 203,000-square-foot structure will yield a mix of market-rate and affordable rental units along with ground-floor retail space. The property is located at the intersection of Union and Bond Streets.

2435 Pacific Street Nears Topping Out in Brownsville, Brooklyn

Developed by Brooklyn Community Housing & Services along with Alembic Community Development and Love Fellowship Tabernacle, the structure will yield more than 240 affordable and supportive housing for vulnerable families and domestic violence survivors. SLCE Architects is the designer and Mega construction is the contractor. The formerly vacant property is located by the confluence of Pacific Street and East New York Avenue.

Excavation Underway For Affordable Housing Building At 120 Liberty Avenue in Brownsville, Brooklyn

Earthwork is getting underway at 120 Liberty Avenue, the site of a four-story affordable housing development in Brownsville, Brooklyn. Designed by Urban Quotient and developed by Alembic Community Development, the $36.8 million project will yield 13 units with two studios, seven one-bedrooms, three two-bedrooms, and one three-bedroom. All residences will be reserved for individuals and families earning less than 80 percent of area median income. The formerly vacant property is located at the corner of Liberty Avenue and Sackman Street.
