  • 🎉 NEW SEED INVESTMENT 🎉 We are thrilled to announce our latest investment in Kaminari Medical, a MedTech company specializing in intravascular imaging technology. 👨⚕️ 👩⚕️ They secured €3.8M in a round which includes participation from Graduate Entrepreneur Fund, NLC Health Ventures, Libertatis Ergo Holding B.V. (Leiden University), and Demcon investment.   ❓Why we invest – The funding will allow the Erasmus MC spin-out to accelerate the development of its photoacoustics and ultrasound imaging platform, initiate clinical trials, and work up to market introduction. 💡 Market – Coronary artery disease, the leading cause of death worldwide, is largely driven by lipid-rich plaques that narrow the coronary arteries and can lead to life-threatening events such as heart attacks and acute coronary syndromes. Currently available diagnostics tools lack the ability to precisely identify high-risk plaques prone to rupture, leaving interventional cardiologists with limited information when deciding the optimal treatment strategy. ❕ Technology – Kaminari Medical’s patented intravascular imaging technology leverages the power of photoacoustics and ultrasound to provide real-time qualification of plaque composition, particularly lipid-rich plaques that pose the greatest risk of rupture. By delivering a more accurate assessment of coronary arteries, Kaminari Medical’s solution enables physicians to better assess the risk of major cardiovascular events, guide optimal treatment strategies and save lives. 👥 Incredible Team! • 📣 Lunch Lecture 📣 Yesterday, we organised a lunch lecture at TU Delft with two inspiring founders: Mattias Scheek (Founder of Mayht Technologies) and Irek Roslon (Founder of SoundCell), both TU Delft alumni. Our own Managing Partner Auke van den Hout moderated this session, centred around how to start your entrepreneurial journey while studying. 🔊 Irek shared his journey from PhD research to founding Soundcell, a company focused on helping patients recover faster by analysing the sound of bacteria to prescribe the right antibiotics. Soundcell is also one of our portfolio companies. 🎤 Matthias walked us through his path: from founding Mayht, a soundtech company that invented a groundbreaking speaker, to securing funding from Martin Garrix, all the way to a $100M exit when Sonos, Inc. acquired his company. The conclusion: Just start, and don’t be afraid to ask for help and advice. Thank you to everyone who joined the session, the speakers Irek and Mattias and our partner Universiteitsfonds Delft!

  • 🎉 NEW PRE-SEED INVESTMENT 🎉 We are excited to announce our investment in GEHECO, a Deep Tech startup transforming the installation of water-water heat pumps!  GEHECO has secured €500K in funding, including contributions from Graduate Entrepreneur, Rockstart, and Rabobank Innovatielening, along with earlier support from Shell Impact Fund and Innovation Quarter’s UNIIQ - Finance for the Future Fund. ❓Why we invest  – GEHECO is solving a challenge: making water-water heat pumps, the most efficient and sustainable heating solution, affordable and accessible for homeowners. The startup will use the investment to refine its prototype, conduct technical demonstrations at The Green Village in Delft, and prepare for client demos in partnership with Itho Daalderop. 💡 Market – Heating accounts for a significant share of global energy demand. Outdated drilling methods for water-water heat pumps are expensive, impractical in urban areas, and unsuitable for retrofitting homes.  ❕ Technology – GEHECO’s patents allow compact, clean well installations and eliminate the need for large machinery.  This allows them to place water-water heat pumps in much smaller areas and eventually even in the crawl space under your house, which makes a sustainable heat pump possible for even more houses. 👥 Team  – Founders Arjen van der Horst and Onno Bierhoff have combined their engineering and business expertise to build the startup GEHECO.  We’re proud to support GEHECO’s vision of making CO2-neutral heating solutions widely accessible, driving the energy transition while improving the comfort and sustainability of homes worldwide.  Interested in reading more about GEHECO?
