We caught up with Margaret Jummy Taribo from Parentskills2GO CIC at last year's Locality Convention. Check out what she had to say! Margaret Jummy Taribo is a visionary leader and the driving force behind ParentSkills2Go - an organisation within Agbero 2100. PS2GO is a Community Interest Company dedicated to enriching the lives of families. With over two decades of unwavering commitment to community service across Southwark and neighbouring areas, Margaret's extensive experience spans a multitude of roles, including Community Involvement Officer, Parent Development Coordinator, and Family Learning Coordinator, among others. Last year, Ubele supported over 32 community leaders from our network to attend the Locality Convention 24'. It was great to connect with so many colleagues from across the country and to see our network actively engaging in networking opportunities. Agbero 2100 is a strategic intervention within ‘systems design’ to support leaders from the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector across England to sustainably own and/or manage community assets.
The Ubele Initiative
Non-profit Organizations
Ubele is taken from Swahili meaning “The Future”.
About us
The Ubele Initiative was founded in 2014, following dialogue with African diaspora leaders. Community-rooted and collaborative in character, Ubele focused on effective solutions to persistent social and economic issues. Ubele is taken from Swahili meaning “The Future”. As an African diaspora led, infrastructure plus organisation, we believe in empowering Black and Minoritised communities in the UK to act as catalysts for social and economic change. To achieve this, we work with community leaders, groups, and organisations in the UK and beyond to strengthen their sustainability, resilience, and voice. We support the growth of individuals and community-based groups and organisations through intergenerational leadership initiatives, capacity support, enterprise, and asset development.

In June 2024, our founder Yvonne Field OBE, joined Ashley McCaul CEO of ThinkForward UK and Christopher Murray, CEO of the Young Brent Foundation at an Impetus - Backing the best Leadership Academy Panel titled 'From Non-Racism to Anti-Racism,' discussing the difference between non-racism and anti-racism, why it is not good enough to be merely ‘non-racist’ - and crucially how leaders can effectively embed anti-racism in their work. Check out a short clip from the discussion below!
