Pilotage powers have been granted to the owners of Port of Ardersier. Haventus are making a significant investment in new infrastructure to put the port at the forefront of Scotland’s burgeoning offshore #renewables industry. A harbour order, signed by Transport Secretary Fiona Hyslop, provides safe passage to vessels arriving in its orders, supporting development and the £400 million investment. It sets out 15 actions to achieve the growth necessary in the public charging infrastructure in Scotland and deliver Scotland’s Vision for public #EV charging. Transport Secretary Fiona Hyslop announces major progress on delivering a long-term solution, and, improving the existing diversion route, at the #A83 #RestAndBeThankful. We have now published draft Orders for both the long-term solution, including the proposed Debris Flow Shelter, and the medium term solution, which delivers further improvements to the Old Military Road to increase its resilience. A series of public exhibitions to present the draft Orders and Environmental Impact Assessments are being held from 15 January 2025. An online virtual exhibition is also now live. Transport Secretary Fiona Hyslop announces the award of an archaeological investigations contract, to Rubicon Heritage Services Ltd - Red River Archaeology Group, to support the construction of the #A9 Dualling: Tay Crossing to Ballinluig project. The contract, worth almost £2 million, will involve investigations on several monuments including the Kindallachan Cairn. The work, alongside a number of other advance works packages, will play a key role in preparing for the main construction contract for the project, which is expected to be awarded in Summer 2025.
