Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) - delivering better public transport for all.
About us
Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) is the largest of Scotland’s seven regional transport partnerships. We run the Glasgow Subway, a host of specialist bus services and are responsible for delivering better public transport for all. SPT is the Regional Transport Partnership for the west of Scotland and was formed in 2006 as part of the transport framework created by the Scottish Government, which is made up of a national transport agency, Transport Scotland, and seven Regional Transport Partnerships. The SPT area comprises of the following council areas: East Dunbartonshire, East Ayrshire, East Renfrewshire, Glasgow City, Inverclyde, North Ayrshire, North Lanarkshire, Renfrewshire, South Ayrshire, South Lanarkshire, West Dunbartonshire and the Helensburgh and Lomond area of Argyll and Bute. SPT’s role involves planning and delivering transport solutions for all modes of transport across the region, in conjunction with our member councils and industry partners. SPT is at the centre of the region’s transport planning; analysing all travel needs and developing the transport system for now and the future.

On the 15th day of Christmas, Govan HELP said thank you to… Churchill Group Glasgow Subway team and Strathclyde Partnership for Transport for their generous food collection for The Govan Pantry.

We recently surveyed over 1100 of our Glasgow Subway passengers and 95% feel Subway staff are helpful and feel welcomed when travelling with us. We also spoke to some of our long-serving staff members, with service lengths of over 50 years and asked them why they love working for the Glasgow Subway. Our staff work hard to make you feel welcome from the moment you step into our station and will continue to do so. Thanks for your feedback!

This morning, SPT's Chair Stephen Dornan visited the Govan Pantry, run by Govan HELP, to drop off donations kindly collected by SPT & Churchill Group staff members. The food and welfare items will make a huge difference to families this Christmas and we are so glad to be involved. Thanks again to Govan Help for letting us come down and see the amazing pantry area and how essential it is for the local community!

A great story from Cycling UK. Proud to support!
How cycling is changing lives in Helensburgh 🚴♂️ At Jean’s Bothy, a community health hub in Helensburgh, cycling is helping people rediscover confidence, improve their wellbeing, and build new connections. With the support of Cycling UK’s Connecting Communities programme, members have been learning to ride, trying out e-bikes, and building up confidence through led rides. For some, cycling has become a vital part of their health routine, while others are enjoying the sense of freedom and accomplishment it brings. Bothy development manager Katrina Sayer shared: "For one of our regulars, cycling provides that rare sense of freedom. For others managing diabetes, it’s a great way to stay active and put advice from our health groups into action." Whether it’s cycling to the Bothy on a Monday morning or completing the 10.5-mile Millport loop, the programme is creating life-changing experiences for members and fostering a stronger sense of community.
