📢Call for artists – Castle Point family guide We are looking for an artist / artist collective to create a new, innovative, fun, engaging, family-friendly guide to Castle Point in South Essex, working with local young people and community groups. This guide will highlight activities in Castle Point across Spring/Summer 2025 and beyond, and will be published both online and in print at the end of March 2025. The artist will work with local students and young people through youth groups, community settings, secondary schools, and during public workshops. Young people will be asked to consider the local history and landscape, discuss their favourite places and interests, and help them design walks and activities alongside these walks, around specific themes. The new walks will be further activated during the Estuary 2025 festival (21-29 June 2025) when the participants will be invited to lead on the walks as volunteers. The application deadline is Midnight on Friday 6 December. Great news for the Thames Estuary as we secure further funding for two innovative projects rethinking logistics in the UK.   The Riverside Urban Logistics Environment (RULE) project takes another step forward with £20,000 secured to develop floating consolidation hubs along the Thames. These hubs, paired with e-cargo bikes, will create cleaner, more efficient logistics solutions, moving freight onto the river to ease congestion and cut emissions. We couldn't have secure this without our partners, Thames Freeport , Uber Boat by Thames Clippers, and Delivery Mates. We’ve also partnered with BioBright LTD and Port of Tyne to secure £20,000 for a project using cutting edge technology in real-time monitoring and algae-based systems to demonstrate how freight logistics can be further decarbonised. Yesterday marked a significant milestone for everyone who believes in the potential of the Thames Estuary. The inaugural general meeting of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Economic Growth in the Thames Estuary brought together a dedicated group of MPs committed to driving transformative change for our region. This moment is more than just a meeting—it's a powerful step forward in amplifying the voices of our communities, showcasing the region’s potential, and uniting efforts to tackle the Estuary’s long-standing challenges. We’re proud to work alongside these passionate champions of the Estuary as they work to unlock Fair Growth, foster collaboration, and ensure the region thrives for generations to come. With full meetings starting in the New Year, we are excited to support the APPG’s mission and continue our work to deliver real impact. Our heartfelt thanks to the group's chair Jim Dickson MP and his team for their leadership and to all involved in this incredible milestone.
