Tech Roundtable - Absolutely LOVED this one. Beautifully co-hosted by our partner Tech London Advocates & Global Tech Advocates and specifically Russ Shaw CBE. What do business leaders need to consider as they scale? We were absolutely delighted to be joined by Josh Robson from the ScaleUp Institute - who set the scene for us beautifully around the current and prospective landscape for scaling businesses. In this scene setting section we also discussed the ever-existing challenge of client acquisition- so many insights and nuggets here! The conversations extended to cover: - Investment. How to be 'investor ready', selecting the most appropriate investor, what are investors looking for? - The vital importance of evolving legal maturity and insurance protection. What compliance considerations are there for entering overseas territories and scaling internationally? How can businesses lower risk with good contracting hygiene? What insurance requirements come with growth? - Attracting and retaining market leading talent. The word 'culture' came up a lot in this section and brought out some wonderful perspectives from the leaders in the room! - NEDs and their importance/value. I particularly enjoyed Tracey Rob Perera CA PMP FCMI point in this section which could be summarised as a NED has their head up where internal leaders could naturally find themselves head down.
