We are honored to have UKABC for the incredible support in helping us organizing Indonesia Investment Forum (IIF) again this year. Looking forward to continuing impactful collaboration in the future between UKABC and IIPC London. 🙌 Siti Tiefryani Fahlyah, Elmo Wiratama
Lots of excellent posts this afternoon regarding the #Indonesia Investment Forum held at the iconic Raffles London at The OWO including one by my colleague Ben Raby. Building on Ben’s comments I wanted to thank the Indonesian Embassy London and the Indonesia Investment Promotion Centre (IIPC) London for asking TheCityUK and UK-ASEAN Business Council (UKABC) to pull together a lunch of the leading 🇬🇧companies with substantial investment operations in 🇮🇩. One of my many familiar lines is that UK-ASEAN Business Council (UKABC) is all about partnership and collaboration so this was an easy one for us to accept. Hearing from H.E. Rosan Perkasa Roeslani the 🇮🇩Minister of Investment and Deputy Minister Nurul Ichwan at lunch about the ambitious and exciting plans around the 🇮🇩investment strategy for 8% growth was fascinating. It will undoubtedly be a challenge but one nevertheless to which 🇬🇧companies are prepared to do all they can to help deliver. UK sectors were well represented at the lunch covering financial and professional services, facilities management, energy, infrastructure and aerospace. Additionally pleasing was to have the experienced voice from our 🇬🇧Ambassador to 🇮🇩Dominic Jermey and the excellent moderating skills of Cora McLaren and input from the ubiquitous Rino Donosepoetro wearing one of his many hats, this time as Chair of BritCham Indonesia. Easy job for me to provide opening remarks on behalf of such a high powered and focused set of professionals, all united around helping to continue the journey of 🇮🇩to become one of - if not the - powerhouses of such a dynamic and vibrant #ASEAN region. As always it was a real pleasure to see my good friend Desra Percaya the outstanding 🇮🇩Ambassador to the UK. His drive focus and determination sets a brilliant benchmark in terms of articulating the policies of 🇮🇩government here in the UK. Setting the scene at the morning session was Department for Business and Trade Minister for Investment, Poppy Gustafsson, Anindya Novyan Bakrie of KADIN and former PM Sir Tony Blair speaking on behalf of Tony Blair Institute for Global Change. All delivering powerful messaging around Indonesia’s growth now but more importantly, the future too.
