We are pleased to have led on this evaluation of such an important programme for The Health Foundation. Find out more below 👇
Over three years, our #CommonAmbition programme supported four ambitious teams to develop collaborative communities where people, families, health care professionals and researchers worked together to improve health care. We learnt that creating collaborative communities to improve health care is both achievable and essential. They are a good way of involving those least-well served by services, who experience the worst health care outcomes. The four Common Ambition projects focused on the following: 1️⃣ Heart n Soul - Believe in Us Developed a new approach for designing services with people with learning disabilities and autistic people in London. 2️⃣ Crohn's & Colitis UK - Aware-IBD Empowered people with inflammatory bowel disease to improve their care based on what matters the most to them. 3️⃣ Brigstowe Worked with people of African and Caribbean heritage to increase HIV awareness and testing, and reduce HIV transmission in Bristol. 4️⃣ Arch Health CIC Worked to improve health services and outcomes for people experiencing homelessness in Brighton and Hove. 📢 The Health Foundation launched the Common Ambition programme in 2020. It aimed to support partnerships between the VCS, NHS and other organisations to develop collaborative communities where people, families, carers, health care professionals and researchers could work together to improve health care. SQW’s final evaluation report of the programme has now been published by the Health Foundation. The evaluation found that the four partnerships funded by the programme successfully involved community participants in collaborative decision-making alongside health care professionals, with each adopting a different approach to collaborative decision-making.
