Join us at PMAC 2025 for our interactive workshop on Evaluating digital health technologies for equitable, accountable and affordable access. Digital health technologies, including AI-driven diagnostics, telehealth, and remote monitoring, are rapidly changing healthcare delivery, especially in resource-limited settings. However, evaluating their cost-effectiveness, equity, and long-term impact remains challenging. This session introduces two frameworks to address these issues: an economic evaluation framework assessing affordability and clinical utility and an equity-driven approach ensuring accountable, equitable access for all. By incorporating underrepresented perspectives, these evaluative approaches aim to build trust and foster inclusive, sustainable solutions. The CTPP working group met this week in an online session hosted by ACTA and the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care. The session was attended by 30 individual community transport provider organisations participating in the pilot from every state and territory in Australia. The working group discussed various policy definitions surrounding the pilot, which have been workshopped and analysed over the past two working groups, in order to prepare for the second phase of the pilot, which will focus on testing and real-world analytics. As the pilot approaches the end of the preparation phase, the group worked specific policy definitions, including the definition of community transport itself. Dataset preparation was also included in this phase, including the ability to collect consistent, accurate data clearly. ACTA thanks Trips, Orcoda, Polixen and Via for their support in working with the University to enable the collection of an accurate dataset. Following the workshop, the University of South Australia provided an update on the data collection, preparing the pilot participants for the test data collection. If you would like to be on the mailing list for our newsletter and regular pilot updates, contact us at: communications@communitytransportaustralia.org.au.
