Apprentice of the Month Theme: A learner who has embraced the review process, demonstrated great communication skills and shown understanding of the impact of their programme in the workplace. This month the SHE Team have selected Adam Stevenson at Entec Sound & Light as their Apprentice of the Month. Learning Coach Prity Lad-patel - BSc, NEBOSH, ILM Level 3 stated the knowledge gained by Adam has allowed him to make a difference in the workplace by implementing superb changes. Today marks ‘TechTimeOut Tuesday’, a day where we are encouraged to take a break from the screen to give our digital wellbeing a boost. With adults in the UK checking their phone every 12 minutes and the average screen time across all devices per day being six hours and 54 minutes, it is no secret that we are all becoming increasingly addicted. Excessive screen time can be detrimental to our quality of sleep, can cause poor mental health, and can damage our eyesight or cause neck and back pain. Whilst technology can be effective in bringing us together without geographical barriers, it can also become socially isolating. It is therefore important to ensure you are having regular breaks. You can remind yourself to do this by using a Pomodoro Timer – this allows you to set a limit for the time you spend on a screen before you are encouraged to go and take a break.
