The new Real Living Wage rates for 2024-25 have been unveiled, setting the new benchmark for a wage that genuinely reflects the cost of living. This voluntary rate, adopted by over 15,000 businesses - including half of the FTSE 100 - ensures employees earn enough to meet daily needs and unexpected expenses. Employers will have six months to implement the new rates, allowing businesses across our districts to take meaningful steps toward a more equitable and sustainable workplace. Primera sees the Real Living Wage as crucial not only for workers but for the vitality of our districts across the capital. By supporting businesses to pay a fair wage, we foster thriving local economies where employees feel valued, businesses retain talent, and communities flourish. With over 460,000 workers already benefiting from this campaign, we continue to advocate for a fairer future. https://lnkd.in/eaV4ipKc Living Wage Foundation #LivingWage #LivingWageEmployers

Huge congratulations to our colleagues in Central District Alliance for their success at the BusinessLDN Planning Awards. Another key infrastructure project, delivered in Central London by working in close partnership with a range of stakeholders, which has transformed the public realm and made Princes Circus a better place to visit, enjoy and appreciate.
The West End Project is now a multi-award winning placemaking scheme. We are excited to announce the West End Project won ‘Best Borough Led Project’ at last night’s BusinessLDN Planning Awards. We are proud Princes Circus is part of the West End Project with the scheme enhancing the experience of those who live, work and visit around the local area. The judges commented the scheme ‘has had a positive impact by reducing local traffic, improving air quality, introducing new planting and encouraging local business investment’. Debbie Akehurst, Chief Executive of Central District Alliance commented: “I am thrilled to see this recognition across all the schemes in the West End Project and particularly proud to see Princes Circus be part of this scheme. A pleasure to support London Heritage Quarter in facilitating this significant visit with representatives from Riyadh Amanah
It was delightful to welcome more international visitors to see the award-winning #StrandAldwych space this week Visiting from Riyadh Amanah, the delegation was led by the Deputy Mayor for Urban Development and accompanied by staff from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Once a car-dominated network, Strand Aldwych is now a striking landscape that brings people in close contact with nature right in the heart of historic, central London. It enhances the Grade I listed architecture which lines the street and helps create a softer, greener, healthier city.

A great piece in the Evening Standard by Primera Founder and CEO Ruth Duston OBE, OC on the importance of driving footfall back into officers in order to make London thrive, based on international research from Centre for Cities
The Centre for Cities research supported by Primera earlier this month highlighted the importance that face to face interactions bring to companies and the wider economy. For London to continue to thrive and compete against other global destinations we must take the time to support younger workers and set an example by spending time together in the office. I'm grateful to have been given the opportunity by the Evening Standard to share my reaction to the report. I hope it resonates with you, and ideally inspires you to spend a little extra time with friends and colleagues. https://lnkd.in/e6DdjPpy
