Today at Parliament, the Digital Poverty Alliance launched its report, Rethinking Education with Generative AI. This timely publication explores how Generative AI can transform education, while addressing the challenges it presents for the 1 in 5 children in the UK living in digital poverty. Generative AI has the potential to personalise learning, improve outcomes, and support educators. Yet, without equitable access and thoughtful policy frameworks, these advancements risk widening existing gaps. The report outlines actionable steps for policymakers, educators, and industry leaders to ensure Generative AI is a tool for inclusion and empowerment, creating opportunities for every learner. Now is the time to act – to align innovation with equity and ensure that no child is excluded from the benefits of an AI-enabled education. We believe in creating a district that is not only economically vibrant but also socially inclusive and environmentally responsible. Our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) initiatives reflect our commitment to long-term growth that benefits everyone in Holborn, Bloomsbury, St Giles, Farringdon and Clerkenwell. For 2025–2030, our ESG plans include: - Working with our businesses, local, regional and national government and education providers to support the employment, training and upskilling needs of our local communities linking into Good Work Camden and Islington Working. - Delivering charitable funding initiatives that reflect the current socio-economic conditions of the five neighbourhoods and to support social inclusion - Supporting our member businesses with their ESG commitments, through corporate volunteering and delivering environmental sustainability initiatives and other opportunities that enhance local development and communities. Wayne Lewis champions our ESG initiatives, ensuring a focus on sustainability, equity and transparent governance that strengthens the fabric of our district. A 'YES' vote in February 2025 empowers us to continue building a resilient, inclusive and sustainable district for businesses, residents and visitors alike.
