In October 2024, PSS and the UK Chamber of Shipping brought together experts from academia, the automotive, and maritime industries, to discuss the risks and mitigations arising from the increased use of electric vehicles in ports and their transportation on ferries and car carriers. PSS members can now view the presentations with accompanying audio from the keynote speakers and pdfs of presentations given by panellists. Link in comments

This week CEO Debbie Cavaldoro and Skills Lead Angela Ward hosted a delegation from South Korea. The meeting discussed ports' use of National Occupational Standards and how PSS is working to standardise training and competency levels for port workers. An interesting meeting exchanging ideas around how to drive up skills in safety critical industries.
