As a business Munro Building Services, have collaborated with the Morgan Sindall Construction team based at Oak Wards, Milton Keynes Hosptial and have donated toys for a range of ages to those who are on the Children’s Ward this Christmas. CASE STUDY Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge: Blundell Court Plantroom- Decarbonisation Project. Munro Building Services were appointed by Sidney Sussex College as the Main Contractor to deliver the full M&E services installation, to decarbonise the existing plantroom and primary systems. The existing oil-fired boilers and storage tanks were decommissioned and removed along with the old BMS control system and majority of the old M&E services. A temporary boiler plant was integrated within the system to ensure existing kitchen and accommodation DHW was still available whilst the work was ongoing. There were a few challenges to overcome whilst working around the exam period and within an old building basement with very limited access for new plant, especially the upgrading of the flue system within an old brick chimney. We would like to thank our subcontractor partners that worked with us on this project, it was a great collaborative effort from all.  Well done to Paul Leonard, Neil Drummond & Mark Downham, and the rest of the Munro Team for delivering the project on programme, ready for this forthcoming, new academic year. #decarbonisation #cambridge #plantroom #buildingservices #mechanical 

Munro Building Services had the pleasure of visiting the Tubes | Tata Steel UK Factory in Corby with Wolseley Pipe Centre, to witness Tata Steel's new Install Plus® 235 Eco-tube range being produced in all its green glory! 💚 One of our current projects, Project Fox, the new laboratory and office space development in Foxton, Cambridgeshire, is targeting BREEAM Excellent. Working in partnership with Pipe Centre and Tata Steel UK, we are proud to be using this new range on Project Fox, which has been developed with 90% less carbon compared to their standard product. The whole team from Munro Building Services gives their heartfelt congratulations to our James Monk who was shortlisted for CIBSE Apprentice of the Year Award 2024, Level 5-7. James is currently completing his Quantity Surveying Degree with us and has recently been promoted from Trainee to Intermediate. He has completed 2 out of his 5 years at Anglia Ruskin University and is very much looking forward to progressing further. James was accompanied by his mentor Stephen Green and our MD Mark Long to the awards at the BMA House in London. The evening was spent celebrating and rewarding the very best and brightest engineering talent and the employers that nurture that talent. Our Health and Safety Manager Rowan Swanser AIEMA and Charlotte Gander have been delivering “take a break” packs to a number of our sites in support of World Mental Health Day. Congratulations to our Courtney Northrop who was shortlisted for the “One to Watch” award at the CITB & National Federation of Builders Top 100 Most Influential Women in Construction award evening. Courntey is one of our Trainee Project Engineers who joined the business earlier on this year, and has taken to her role amazingly well and we are very proud of the progress that she is making. She was accompanied by her mentor Mason Newman, co-workers and our apprentice Charlotte Porter who was also nominated for an award; “Women on the Tools”. The event was a great evening to be apart of and our girls hope to inspire future generations and encourage more women to get involved in the construction sector. CASE STUDY Working with R G Carter, Munro Building Services are proud to have delivered the full MEP services to Beaulieu Park Primary School, in Chelmsford. This project is a new build school which is arranged over two stories, catering for 400 plus students with various classrooms, office space, external sports facilities and provision for future expansion. This was a fantastic Net Zero Project to be apart of and completed in time for the new intake of students to start in September.
