About us
Established in 1885, Luton Town Football Club compete in the second tier of English Football, the Sky Bet Championship. Nicknamed the Hatters after the town’s famous hat-making industry in the early 20th century, the team play their home games at the all-seated and family-orientated Kenilworth Road stadium, where they have been situated since 1905. The club have enjoyed many seasons in the top-flight of English football and the greatest day came when the team won the League Cup at Wembley in 1988 with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Arsenal. Kenilworth Road opens its doors for 23 league matches during the football season which runs between August and April, but the stadium is not just a place for the beautiful game. The club offers a large variety of entertainment, including Specs – a comedy club which pays homage to legendary comedian, and Luton supporter, Eric Morecambe. As well comedy, Kenilworth Road also hosts business exhibitions and has a marriage licence should you fancy tying the knot. Maybe I'm a (moral) masochistic but I'm looking forward to the #CEOSleepout on Thursday raising funds for our partner charity #NOAHEnterprise. Sandwiched between two massive away fixtures - I'll be getting home from Leeds in the early hours of Thursday morning and then driving over to Norwich on Friday afternoon (after a couple of key Power Court meetings in the morning) in readiness for our league game on Saturday, and with temperatures expecting to be a miserly 2°C, it's going to be a challenge! Please show your generosity for this great cause as I'll be joined by the great Curtis Davis and a host of other charitable legends to highlight the plight of the homeless in our region. I'm so lucky to be privileged enough to do the job I do with people I love to work with, and to have the lifestyle I enjoy, with the family I love. To help appreciate everything we have, sometimes, we need to be taken out of our comfort zones. So, this November, I’ll be trying to experience what it means to feel homeless as I'll join some of my LTFC team-mates and some other business leaders from around Luton to spend the night outside at Kenilworth Road. Supporting the great initiative established by #CEOSleepout UK, we are raising funds Luton Town's charity partner, #NOAHEnterprise, by sleeping without shelter for just one, single night in order to highlight the issue of homelessness and to raise money to help NOAH expand the excellent work they do in Luton to assist the homeless a chance to find their feet.
