Congratulations to our Jake Whittlesea who has recently been promoted to Quantity Surveyor. Jake joined our practice earlier in the year as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor responsible for delivering a high end residential scheme in North London and supporting our team on the redevelopment of St Saviours Hospital in Hythe. Not only has Jake excelled in his position, he is an absolute pleasure to work with and has shown fantastic commercial ability and a real team player. Recently Kent Construction Consultants were appointed by our long standing client Strawberry Star Group to facilitate Quantity Surveying, Employers Agent and Project Management professional services to redevelop the former NHS Maternity Hospital in Gravesend. James McGuire our Senior Quantity Surveyor is currently seeking expressions of interest for the initial #enabling and #demolition phase. Please reach out if you wish to express interest, tenders are due to be released shortly with a planned commencement on site February 2025. Block M, known to us as the existing Maternity Hospital, has been designed #sustainably reusing the existing RC Frame, continued with new facade treatment and internal fitout. During this time, Block T (otherwise known as the tower) shall commence concurrently. Additional blocks to the rear will form as the second phase planned later in the year. Our former St Saviours Hospital site located on the prestigious Hythe seafront is progressing at speed with no slow down due to the recent British weather. Fantastic progress by the main contractor having completed the slope stabilisation works, extensive site wide formation, leading to the piling and foundation works to all three apartment blocks. In addition to the new 47 luxury apartments designed by the award winning architects Hollaway Studio, progression is underway on the restoration and conversion of the former nunnery “The Dutch House” into 4 luxury apartments. Recently Kent Construction Consultants reached out to support young professionals who found themselves questioning how to move forward since the collapse of ISG, we had an amazing response from the industry. Since, we are delighted to welcome to the team Ollie Edkins as our latest Trainee Quantity Surveyor. Oliver started his career with ISG and enrolled onto the apprenticeship programme, but after only 17 days since commencing his professional career, his career came to a complete stop.
