About us

There may be a lot wrong in the world, but there is also a lot right about it. We have chosen to be the difference we long to see and build a community of people who believe that there is another way, despite what life might have thrown at them. In 2021, with the world locked down amidst the pandemic, our co-founders locked-in on their commitment to bring HUM4NS to life. HUM4NS has now expanded into a BRAVE new world where we talk about the challenges people face. We are on a path of personal development to become the change we want to see, and support many others wanting to do the same. HUM4NS is built around four pillars that we believe will help us to look outward by first looking inward, make the impossible plausible. These are Self (Personal Development), Health, Love and Relationships and Giving. The format comprises 90 days of learning and empowering using our Challenge books, monthly challenges and becoming a part of our vibrant community. We believe that everyone has something positive to offer to the world and our team at HUM4NS is focused on empowering you to unlock that potential from within. Too often we allow external circumstances to delay making positive changes to our lives and we want to inspire you to start wherever you are right now.

The beard has got thicker and the hair a little thinner, but what an incredible year it's been! Now please don't mistake 'incredible' for 'easy', they are definitely two different things as all #businessowners will know. Sometimes overcoming challenges leads to the biggest wins, venturing into the unknown yields the biggest rewards, and backing yourself becomes the best investment you will ever make. This year has enabled me to live the HUM4NS values to the max, so here is a snap shot of my 2024 Brave: - I left my corporate role to take HUM4NS on a new adventure from start-up to scale up - Having put it off for over four years, I went under the knife to have knee surgery - mountains here I come! - We launched new programmes and services and ventured into the unknown staying true to our values and ethos along the way - We committed to be brave in our approach, helping others to understand the difference between what they want and what they need. Empowering: - This year we gave a platform to 20 HUM4NS speakers - 55% of our speakers in 2024 were female - We increased Eventbrite signups for HUM4NS Talks by 49.15% from year 2 and by a whopping 94% from year 1. - We launched the HUM4NS Empowered Leadership Programme (HELP) ready to support more #leaders from January 2025 - We supported our community to raise money for incredible charities like Marmalade Trust - We've continued coaching incredible organisations like Matter. and welcomed scaling organisations such as Snap Analytics, Happy Hour Productions, CUPP and others to the HUM4NS family Inspiring: - We were shortlisted and won multiple awards including the UKs Most Inspiring Mentors and the South West Education and Training Provider of the Year. - We shared our story far and wide demonstrating that vulnerability can be a strength rather than a weakness - Thanks to UWE Alumni Team, we gave an inspirational speech at the University of the West of England #business graduation ceremony to inspire the new graduates to dream big in life and business. Nurturing: - In addition to increasing attendance at HUM4NS Talks, we maintain a retention rate above 90% across all our paid services. - We've welcomed the wonderful Katy-Marie Mottershead to the team to help support and nurture our growing community - We've enhanced relationships with wonderful businesses and built new friendships, partnerships and collaborations at places like The Square Club, Village Hotels and Lexus Bristol Giving: - We've raised money for charities - We've continued to fund places in our group coaching and HELP programmes for charity leaders at Marmalade Trust and The MAZI Project *if you're a charity leader and reading this, we still have a space for our 2025 charity leader so please get in touch - We've kept HUM4NS Talks free for all, delivered free #coaching and mentoring as part of Help to Grow, and provided free downloads of the GAMEPLAN And breathe... Today we head into Bristol to deliver another transformational workshop, focusing on the HUM4NS GAMEPLAN and the psychology behind habit development. Today's workshop builds on the foundation established a little while back when we took the team through the Magic of Mindset, further supporting them to unlock their personal and professional potential. While many of us are accustomed to meeting goals assigned to us in our roles, how often do we set personal goals? Here are some interesting stats: - 83% of people don't set goals - 14% have goals but don't write them down - Only 3% people write down their goals But why does this matter? According to research by psychologist Gail Matthews, writing down your goals makes you 42% more likely to achieve them. This clarity and focus not only improves your accountability but also creates a tangible sense of commitment. And here's the real kicker. When you share your goals and track progress with others, success rates soar to 76% Our approach at HUM4NS always goes beyond surface level impact to dig that little bit deeper. Today we'll be challenging the team to explore what makes them happier, healthier, smarter and kinder at home and at work, along with considering the habits that will support or inhibit their success. The HUM4NS Challenge Journal serves as a framework and foundation for long term exploration, ensuring the impact of our workshop lasts months, rather than days. Let's go! #mindset #habits #training #professionaldevelopment #teamwork #business #businessowners #entrepreneur #coaching #businesscoaching #teamworkshop #workshop

Is kindness a sign of weakness? Or, is taking advantage of other people's kindness the true weakness!? I believe that kindness is a strength - a choice to lead with empathy, compassion, and understanding in a world that often prioritises competition over connection. It's about being intentional with how you treat others, knowing that your small acts can create a ripple effect of positivity. In leadership, business, or life, kindness doesn't mean compromising boundaries or being naive. It simple means recognising the humanity in others and acting in a way that builds trust and respect. A compliment. A gift. Doing something without expectation of return. A gesture. A thank you. The list of little actions with big impact goes on... What's the kindest thing that a colleague has done for you? Have you missed an opportunity to be kind in life or business and wish you would have done something differently? What's the last act of kindness you received that made you smile? Is kindness a weakness? #leadership #mindset #business #coaching #businessowner #entrepreneur #behum4nkind

Look, if you had one shot, one opportunity, to seize everything you’ve ever wanted in one moment... Would you capture it, or just let it slip? OK, so we’re not Eminem, and this isn’t a rap battle, but maybe—just maybe—he was onto something! Life is a series of moments, most of which we pass through like spectators. But every now and then, an opportunity comes along. And in that moment, you have the chance to step up, own it, and make it count. This could be one of those moments. Next week marks Day 0 of the HUM4NS Empowered Leadership Programme. We’ll kick things off with GAMEPLAN—a session designed to help you take a good, hard look at what you really want from life and business, and start mapping the steps to make it happen. If you're ready to own your moment, drop Olly Reid or Darrell Irwin a message and we'll send you an invite to next weeks session 🧠 👏

Another year of making do, getting by and going with the flow? It's easy to get caught in the rhythm of life, isn't it!? Work responsibilities, the endless to-do list, it can all feel like a treadmill where you're moving but not feeling like you're actually getting anywhere. I've been there too! You tell yourself, "Next year will be different", then boom, it's December again and another January is rolling in as you reluctantly step off the treadmill for another festive season. But what if this year was actually different? What if, instead of letting fear or self-doubt drown out your dreams, you chose to hand your dreams the microphone... What if you chose to let your dreams be louder than your fears? Imagine where that mindset could take you. I'll be honest, chasing your dreams doesn't come with any guarantees, but neither does playing it safe. The real question isn't what could you lose, but what could you gain by betting on yourself!? Time to stop waiting and start creating... Can you relate? What were your goals this year? Have you planned goals for 2025? #businessleader #entrepreneur #businesscoach #mindset #businesstips #business

Emma Hayes Alex Ferguson Becky Hammon Jose Mourinho Judy Murray Katie Sowers Arne Slot Straight out of the blocks this morning! (dammit! Should've used an athletics coach to go with the pun). Incredible coaches that were average at their sports! A mentor tells you the route they went to get where you intend to go. A coach helps you forge your own route through the unknown. The most successful business owners that we work with understand that it's not one or the other, you need both! Happy Monday 😁

This post is not about Football! But... Have you ever heard of FC Zwolle or NAC Breda? No? Me neither! How about Cambuur or AZ Alkmaar? These four football teams have something in common: Arne Slot. For those who haven't heard of Slot, he could be described as an average football player who spent much of his career with smaller clubs. When he transitioned to coaching, he didn't start with household names or juggernaut teams. Yet today, he's the manager of Liverpool, a team competing at the very highest levels - topping the Premier League and Champions League tables. How does someone who hasn't played or managed the giants of football achieve such remarkable success? The answer lies in skills, attributes, insights and qualities that transcend personal playing history. His job isn't to be the best player, but to get the best out of his players. Tactical acumen, a deep understanding of the realities of the game and the ability to inspire others to fulfill their potential. This brings us to the broader question: Do you have to have scaled a multi-million-pound business to coach one? The answer is the same. Coaching isn't about having lived someone else's specific experience. It's about understanding the principles of success, asking the right question, and guiding others to see possibilities and solutions that they might miss on their own. A great coach knows how to inspire confidence, cultivate strengths, and challenge people to grow. Business, like football, is about strategy, mindset, and team dynamics. The best coaches bring perspective, clarity, and accountability to the table, whether they've walked your exact path or not... As a final point of clarity, and before anyone asks, no, I'm not a Liverpool fan! If I had my way, this post would have been about the mighty Arsenal or the legendary Arsene Wenger. But as I mentioned earlier, this post isn't about football - it's about leadership, growth, and how success can be supported by those who have never walked the path you intend to follow 🤐 . If you're inspired to explore this conversation more, here are some names worth googling: Emma Hayes Alex Ferguson Becky Hammon Jose Mourinho Judy Murray Katie Sowers #businesscoaching #coach #business #mindset #businesstips #leadership #humandevelopment #coaching #mentoring
