About us

Brunel University London is the first UK University to join the Design Factory Global Network (DFGN, dfgn.org). DFGN is a worldwide association of 30+ design-led innovation hubs at universities and research organisations across Europe, North America, South America, Asia and Australia. The participation of Brunel in the network is managed by Brunel Design and the innovation hub at the campus in Uxbridge. Headed by Aalto University in Helsinki, Finland, with the members including CERN, University of São Paulo, Kyoto Design Lab and Swinburne University, DFGN promotes design thinking and interdisciplinary project-based learning through international student-led collaborative projects with major companies. The membership in DFGN enables Brunel Design students to work on live project briefs with their peers and industry at a global scale, thus greatly contributing to student experience, while the UK-based companies have the opportunity to collaborate not only with Brunel, but with an international community having an established track-record of fostering the culture of radical innovation. If you are interested to hear more about Design Factory Global Network and explore the collaboration options, please contact us at dfgn@brunel.ac.uk.
