  • As 2024 draws to a close, we reflect on an incredible year of success, community engagement, and growth. We’re proud to share the highlights that made this year truly special for both our retailers and visitors. We’re thrilled to report a +10.2% increase in sales compared to last year, with the highest-performing categories being Sports, Gifts & Confectionary, and Health & Beauty.   We welcomed several exciting new stores this year, including Greggs in April, Le Creuset in September, The Hole in Wand in October, and Cover Beauty in November. Mountain Warehouse and Animal both underwent impressive refits, bringing fresh experiences to our visitors. Breakfast with Santa was a massive hit, with the second date fully booked!   Our Summer and Winter Artisan Markets brought over 50 local traders to Dalton Park, reinforcing our commitment to supporting the community. Events like Strut Your Pup Dog Walk and the Seaside Mini Golf Experience attracted thousands, bringing fun and connection to our visitors. Wellbeing Walks in partnership with Climate Action North and Sensory Bags for children with autism further showcased our dedication to creating inclusive and enriching experiences for everyone. In March, we introduced a Donation Box for Country Durham and Sunderland Food Bank, supporting local families in need. Our 21st Anniversary Celebration in April was another milestone, with a +16.8% increase in sales for the entire centre. As we look ahead to 2025, we are excited to continue growing, innovating, and creating memorable experiences that bring people together 🙌🏻

  • The power of experiences at Dalton Park 🎄 At Dalton Park, we’ve always believed that shopping is about more than just transactions—it’s about creating meaningful moments that bring customers closer to your brand. This festive season, we’re thrilled to have hosted Breakfast with Santa, a heartwarming experience that was a resounding success. So much so, that the second date sold out completely! Why does this matter to businesses? In an increasingly competitive landscape, standing out is no longer just about offering the best products or the most competitive prices—it’s about creating experiences that resonate with your customers on a deeper level. Breakfast with Santa was more than just a festive gathering; it was a chance for families to build lasting memories in a relaxed and joyful atmosphere. These moments of connection not only foster customer loyalty, but they also give businesses the opportunity to showcase their brand values in action—creating a sense of belonging and community that goes beyond the store. Experiential marketing is powerful as it allows brands to show up in a way that feels authentic and personal, engaging customers on an emotional level. As we look to 2025, we are more committed than ever to offering experiences that make people feel seen, valued, and part of something special. The success of Breakfast with Santa is proof that when you create memorable, shareable experiences, you’re not just attracting customers—you’re building relationships that last. #CustomerExperience #ExperientialMarketing #DaltonPark #BrandLoyalty #ThoughtLeadership #RetailInnovation

  • Do you believe in magic? Dalton Park, the largest outlet shopping and leisure destination in the northeast of England, has announced the opening of Hole in the Wand, seeing the expansion of its leisure and entertainment portfolio. This wizard-themed mini golf attraction, the first of its kind in the region and the fourth UK location for Hole in the Wand, will open its doors to the public on October 19th, promising a unique experience that will drive footfall and enhance visitor engagement. Hole in the Wand/Potions Cauldron will also debut its first-ever "Little Wizards" experience at Dalton Park – a space specially designed for toddlers and young children. The experience is designed to appeal to a broad demographic, offering family-friendly entertainment that will attract both local residents and tourists. The addition of this unique leisure attraction is anticipated to boost visitor numbers, extend dwell times, and increase cross-shopping opportunities for the centre's retail partners. Nicky Lovell, Head of Outlets and Retail Business Development at Global Mutual stated: "There is a growing opportunity to include entertainment and leisure options at retail destinations. Retail Outlets have capacity to cater to the family day out model, which sees the offering of leisure, shopping and food and drink all under one roof. “We’re delighted to welcome Hole in the Wand to Dalton Park, further diversifying our offerings to provide great experiences for visitors as part of our ongoing strategy to enhance Dalton Park’s appeal. We anticipate it will drive significant footfall, benefiting both our retail tenants and the broader community.” A spokesperson from Hole in the Wand added: "We are excited to bring our unique brand of magical fun to Dalton Park. This location is a perfect fit for the expansion of our business, and we believe our presence here will resonate well with the local community. Our goal is to create a memorable experience that encourages repeat visits, and we look forward to contributing to the vibrancy of Dalton Park." #DaltonPark #HoleInTheWand #Leisure #Entertainment
