Over the past few years, people living in extreme poverty have faced so many challenges — from the fallout of a global pandemic to climate shocks and displacement. As a result, the number of people living in extreme poverty has increased, highlighting the urgent need for development initiatives that are evidence-based, scalable, and resilient to future crises. #EconomicInclusion is one such solution. We're proud to have contributed to the newly released State of Economic Inclusion Report 2024: Pathways to Scale from our program partner Partnership for Economic Inclusion, which sheds light on the progress made in empowering millions of people through skills-building, securing better jobs, and building resilience against future shocks. This report underscores the key role of collaboration among governments, NGOs, and the private sector if we are to achieve scale. It is through partnerships that we can truly accelerate progress and bring change to the lives of millions of people.
🌍 Economic inclusion programs are growing, but there’s more work to be done. The recently released “State of Economic Inclusion Report 2024: Pathways to Scale” highlights remarkable progress, with the number of programs nearly doubling since 2021. Coverage has increased by 50%, now reaching 15 million households and benefiting over 70 million people across 88 countries. Yet, economic inclusion programs currently reach only 10% of those living in extreme poverty, a stark reminder of the critical need to scale up efforts and prioritize the most marginalized and hard-to-reach populations. Scaling up economic inclusion programs successfully requires powerful partnerships. While governments are at the forefront, collaboration with non-governmental organizations, community-based organizations, and the private sector is essential to overcome capacity challenges and maximize impact. 📖 Explore the full report and join the conversation on how we can expand these transformative programs! 👉 https://bit.ly/4fWdCXl #EconomicInclusion #PovertyReduction
