Being part of the City of London Corporation framework, we at Norman Rourke Pryme | Certified B Corp™️are involved in some really interesting projects, such as Leadenhall Street, steeped in history. A pleasure to be working alongside LDA Design again. Have your say or find out more here https://lnkd.in/eZJDT8Vg #NRP #NRPeople #publicrealm #healthystreets #cityoflondon
Have your say on Leadenhall Street, one of London’s most iconic streets. Transformation led by a visionary team at City of London Corporation with LDA Design. Proposals remove highway, widen pavements (by up to 3m), introduce new and improved crossings, seating, trees and planting (inground and planters subject to utilities). One of the most fascinating streets in London. Roman Mosaics, The Church of St Katharine Cree (oldest surviving building in the area, grade I listed), nearby home of William Shakespeare, a resident goose named ‘Old Tom, The Leadenhall Press, the Aldgate Pump Epidemic, The Leadenhall Building and Lloyd’s of London. Legend has it that the last wolf to be slain in London was killed at the eastern end and if you look carefully a brass wolf’s head marks the spot. These stories are shared as part of a new arts and history trail with ideas for integrated artworks, interpretation and QR codes. The project aims to encourage walking and cycling, ensure climate resilience, and create a more sociable and equitable street. Exciting times as The City diversifies it's streets and urban spaces. The public realm vision led by the Eastern City BID also sets the scene for public life in the area. Celebrating heritage and culture, creating inviting spaces and promoting safety. Visit the Leadenhall Street Commonplace consultation portal https://lnkd.in/e9Hy4GWk. The team at The City are also holding public drop-in sessions. Engagement runs until 9th February 2025. They will be sharing valuable insights on this topic, using two fantastic Liveable Neighbourhood projects that #NRP are involved in: Enfield Town LN and Holborn LN. The team are working hard on their Mo's (and their mo-growing faces!😕). A very worthwhile cause Movember, all donations welcome. Watch this space for updates... #NRPeople #Movember
Hello LinkedIn Friends, I'm attempting to grow a moustache for Movember with some of my colleagues at Norman Rourke Pryme | Certified B Corp™️ - It's definately a work in progress at the moment. Hopefully if I keep up my concentration face for the next three weeks something will grow. Also, yes I still use paint - it's a great piece of software. Donations of any size would be greatly appreciated. It's a very worthy cause.

👏 We are pleased to be part of the winning team for the Healthy placemaking for community impact award. We are also very proud of helping with this important project for Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity, MayorofLondon NHS England Creating a 'Healthy Hospital Street' plan that not only manages the aspect of traffic management but has the experience of children at the core. We provided Transport Engineering support, Cost Management and CDM. Thanks and well done to all of the team LDA Design Metis Consultants | Certified B Corp™️ #NRP #NRPeople #HCD2024 #HealthyCityDesignAwards #placemaking #GreatOrmondStreet #bettercity #london
Up to 750 seriously ill children and their carers arrive at Great Ormond Street Hospital every day. And so, like the streets outside most London hospitals, Great Ormond Street is busy with traffic. We’ve been working with the #hospital on plans that could reclaim road space to create a playable, #biophilic landscape with a series of garden rooms. This change would dramatically improve local air quality. Doorstep play would also make a big difference to the children’s experience of being treated at the hospital, and there would be respite too for carers and staff. The plans balance #placemaking with the necessary hospital logistics and the hope is that by creating London’s first ‘Healthy Hospital Street’, other hospitals across the city might follow. So, it’s wonderful to see this ambition recognised at the inaugural Healthy City Design awards, with a win for #community impact. Great Ormond Street’s Magali Thomson and LDA Design’s Scott Carroll were there to pick up the award. Well done, everyone. Great to see this work recognised.
