Anyone who has a fleet of vehicles, knows the feeling you get when photos like these arrive from the team. This morning's after-breakfast surprise for the guys staying at an ibis, ibis Styles, ibis budget hotel on the M40 last night. Absolutely fuming. 😡 This happened despite having high security locks and the vehicle being alarmed. Luckily our team are diligent and organised so all the tools were secured away on site, with no disruption to work for our customer. Work commenced as normal but we now have a large bodywork bill to deal with. Merry Christmas ya filthy animals!

I am so pleased to announce that Brad Hannaby and David Harwood have been promoted to Directors of CB Refrigeration Ltd. Their unwavering support to both staff and customers as well as focus on our growth in all areas has been inspiring and I am personally very proud of their achievements. CB has grown significantly over the past few years in all aspects from financial and technical performance as well as a self delivered national service and installation offering to our valued partnered clients. I’m very happy to share the news that Paul Beament MIET has today become a Director here at Ayjay Group Paul has been instrumental in the continued growth and stability of the business over the past few turbulent years and it is such an honour to reward him in this way. A poignant date as it is 28years to the day that Jason and I set up Ayjay and became Directors ourselves, I know Jase would be absolutely delighted and so proud that Paul has grown in stature within the company we founded gaining the respect of colleagues and clients along the way Well done Paul

FLASHBACK FRIDAY! Another little trip down memory lane today for this month’s ‘Monthly Memories’ post…   Throwing it back to 1972 – a pivotal year for the British Retail Industry – the year Carrefour came to Caerphilly. Not only was it the first Hypermarket (yes hyper, not super – big difference (quite literally)) in Wales but the first in the whole of the UK. Our Ayjay Managing Director Andrew Hall remembers the introduction of the French retail giant and for some reason the most distinct memory of his is that “there was a huge animated gorilla in the carpark greeting customers one year!” with a very questionable name – any guesses?? CB Refrigeration Ltd‘s Sarah Evans also remembers her “Auntie Annette working on the tills”. The store was sold in the 1990’s to Asda which it still remains as today, although now a new building after the original was torn down. Asda was actually one of the first retail jobs Ayjay Group had but now we work throughout the UK in most major supermarkets, some of which are ironically twice the size of the original hypermarket. It’s always nice to look back and appreciate our local history and how far we have come as a business and in the industry. #AyjayGroup #Supermarket #Asda #Caerphilly
