Today was fantastic at the National Association of Supported Accommodation Partners (NASAP) conference! I connected with fellow providers, exchanged ideas, and gained valuable insights into enhancing our services for young people. As members of the NASAP, we at Alternative Approach truly appreciate the principle of 'Collaboration over Competition.' I left with a fresh perspective on how to work together more effectively to provide safe and secure accommodation while supporting young people in their transition to independence—whatever that may look like! On that note, I was particularly captivated by Dez Holmes presentation on #TransitionalSafeguarding. A key takeaway for me was the idea that those who love you help shape your identity as an adult, not a new concept but this highlights the significant role we all play in a young person's life and the lasting influence we have on them. Fantastic half term for our children and young people 🎃 Staff, as always have been fantastic and they have really gone above and beyond to ensure that our support sessions have been fun and engaging. Our children have made amazing memories and enjoyed lots of activities including Alton Towers, Flip Out, Cake and Pizza making, Pumpkin carving, Bowling, Swimming and we have lots more fun planned for the weekend, then it’s back to school and time for us to start planning Christmas activities 🎅🏽🎄 #familysupport #supportworkers #halloween #alternativeapproch
