This Christmas, our regional teams swapped the traditional office Secret Santa for a more meaningful way of giving by participating in the KidsOut Giving Tree initiative🎁   Over the past few months, our Group, East, South West and East Midlands regions have been busy purchasing and collecting Christmas gifts for vulnerable children who are facing challenges like poverty, domestic abuse, or special educational needs, ensuring they have presents to open this Christmas – gifts they might not otherwise receive. In total, 170 presents were collected across the regions!   KidsOut is an amazing charity that brings fun, happiness, and life-changing experiences to disadvantaged and vulnerable children across the UK. Each year, they bring joy to over 20,000 children through day trips, fun experiences, toys and books.   👏A fantastic fundraising effort from everyone at Allison Homes. We were honoured to sponsor the Women in Construction Lincolnshire event at Stamford College on 11th December 2024, an inspiring gathering of influential women from across the construction industry 👷♀️   The event welcomed a diverse group of individuals, each bringing unique backgrounds and experiences. Attendees engaged in meaningful discussions and networking opportunities aimed at enhancing education and career prospects for women in the sector.   Our CEO, John Anderson, delivered a compelling speech addressing the ongoing challenges in the construction industry, particularly regarding women's participation and the industry-wide skills shortage. Our East region is lighting the way this Christmas. We’re proud to have sponsored Great Gonerby Parish Council’s Christmas lights, which have now been installed in the village near our upcoming development in Manthorpe, Grantham. As part of our sponsorship, our team supplied the lights for the tree, which were officially switched on during a festive event on Saturday 30th November. The event brought residents of the local village together to enjoy mince pies, mulled wine and some Christmas carols! We're excited to announce that our South West region has commenced work on our newest development in Tiverton, bringing 70 much needed affordable homes to the area.   This development will feature a mix of one, two, three, and four bedroom homes, delivered in partnership with LiveWest as a combination of Shared Ownership and Social Rent. These homes will be available for occupation in summer 2025.   It's part of our ongoing commitment through our Partnership Division to deliver high-quality, affordable homes across the South West.   Shaune Hicks, Operations Director at Allison Homes said :“We are working in partnership with local contractor JAO Groundworks to build the 70 properties. Our RPO journey with Allison Homes formally kicks off in January. What's refreshing about this RPO is that HR is driving it. Every time our team returns from a meeting with Zoe Evans I hear about how much easier it is when we form a strong partnership with HR.
