Aware is feeling inspired after attending the TUANZ Tech Users Summit presented in conjunction with the Digital Health Association (DHA) last week. It was fantastic to gain so many insights into the current challenges facing New Zealand’s health sector and hear from leaders in the space who recognize the value the tech industry can bring to the solution. Leigh Donoghue’s speech was particularly inspiring, as he emphasized the need to reshape the technology that underpins our health system. He eloquently highlighted New Zealand's strong history of technical innovation, using the image of a waka on hydrofoils soaring above the water as a powerful metaphor for what a transformation of our health system could achieve. At Aware, we’ve always been ahead of the curve when it comes to big data and AI, but our true purpose has always been to enhance the lives of people and organizations through the ethical and sustainable use of emerging technologies. We can’t think of a more fitting application of our skills than to improve the health and well-being of every single citizen in New Zealand. We know the road ahead won’t be easy, and there will be many challenges.
