But it’s also a reminder of how much more we must do. 💪 Investing in UHC enhances equity, promotes social cohesion, and strengthens economies. Better health outcomes, increased workforce participation, and stronger community resilience—are the results of making health accessible to everyone. On this Universal Health Coverage Day, under the global theme 'Health: It's on the government,' Egypt reaffirms its leadership in advancing Universal Health Coverage as a constitutional right and a pillar of sustainable development. UHC is not just an aspiration; it is a moral imperative and a strategic commitment to equity, resilience, and shared prosperity. Through the Universal Health Insurance System (UHIS), Egypt is transforming its healthcare landscape. We have prioritized equity by extending coverage to the most vulnerable, reduced out-of-pocket expenditures, and strengthened primary care as the foundation of our system. This transformation reflects our belief that access to quality healthcare is fundamental to social justice and national progress. As a proud representative of Egypt and a steering committee member of UHC2030 - Taking action for universal health coverage, I see firsthand the global importance of strong governmental leadership in achieving UHC. Egypt's experience demonstrates that with political will, robust governance, and strategic public-private partnerships, even resource-constrained settings can achieve transformative reforms. Our success in aligning health systems with the principles of inclusivity and sustainability offers valuable lessons for the global community. Today, I call on my colleagues in governments worldwide to view UHC as both a moral responsibility and a catalyst for economic and social stability. Egypt stands ready to collaborate, share its journey, and contribute to global efforts to make UHC a reality for all. Together, we can build a world where health equity drives lasting progress for future generations. #UHCDay #Egypt #UniversalHealthCoverage

#HealthForAll means more than healthcare. On #UHCday, Dr Tlaleng Mofokeng emphasizes that quality, affordable services must address the root causes of health inequities—protecting the vulnerable from crises and breaking the cycle of poverty.
