#2024inReview: In 2024, the 3-year hepatitis B project in Vietnam showed that early screening and treatment for pregnant women works, lowering mother-to-child transmission of hepatitis B, HIV, and syphilis in local communities.

#2024inReview: In 2024, The Hepatitis Fund launched new multi-year funding opportunities for Asian and African organisations working on innovative projects to eliminate viral hepatitis as a public health threat.

#2024inReview: In April, The Hepatitis Fund attended the World Hepatitis Summit 2024 in Lisbon, where we collaborated with world-leading hepatitis experts and community advocates.

#2024inReview: In 2024, several healthcare centres in Rwanda provided hepatitis B screening, vaccination, and/or antiviral treatment to over 90% of mothers, newborns, and people living with hepatitis B seeking care. The Hepatitis Fund backed project is on track to screen over 240,000 pregnant women and drastically improve vaccine coverage for newborns.

Did you know there's a powerful treatment combo for both HIV and hepatitis B? Nam Anh, 40, from Hanoi, is living proof. After testing positive for hepatitis B, he received immediate treatment with tenofovir, the same medication used to prevent and treat HIV. After successful treatment, Anh now spends his time urging others in Vietnam to get tested early.
