  • Ending violence against women is a COMMUNITY CALL. During these 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence (GBV), we celebrate community peace ambassadors, champions fostering human rights accountability in communities while creating a culture of peace. In Mutasa, some of the community peace ambassadors we work with have pledged to be COMMUNITY CHAMPIONS against GBV! They pledged to support survivors of GBV in their wards, raise awareness about the devastating impact of GBV and mobilize their community to take action against GBV. Every action counts, no matter how small! Let's work together to create a world where everyone, especially women and girls, can live free from violence and fear! Let's make a difference, together! #16DaysOfActivism #GBV #CommunityChampions #NoExcuses Christian Aid Zimbabwe UNWomen Wwk

I want to express my gratitude the Bulawayo Progressive Residents Association for organizing the training on Women Human Rights Defenders–security, self-defense, and self-care, in collaboration with the Women’s Academy for Leadership and Political Excellence (WALPE) and in partnership with UN Women, Women's Coalition of Zimbabwe , and the Zimbabwe Peace Project . Your commitment to empowering women human rights defenders is commendable👏 as this kind of continous learning is much-needed. #humanrights #safetyandsecurity #endgbv

  • ‘These inputs are for those in need—not personal gain.’ We commend the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development Obert Jiri for calling out officials misusing aid meant for vulnerable communities. ZPP has consistently documented incident of unfair distribution of food aid and agricultural inputs. Since January 2024, over 240 violations have been recorded where councilors, traditional leaders and political actors abuse their influence in denying aid to potential beneficiaries, looting, hoarding and falsifying information for their personal gain. Over 1700 households have been affected by the mal-administration of government sponsored food aid and agricultural inputs. Such mal-administration exacerbates food insecurity for marginalized groups, such as women and children, as well as persons with disabilities. Open Parly ZW
